Has anyone renewed their permanent residency card since the new police report law that is now required? How did you obtain the report from the U S and have it authenticated by the Philippine Embassy?

    Please help

I think renewals do not need police report, just new applicants.

I think Davy is right. Only new applicants need the FBI background check letter. (There may be an exception to that if you have been out of the Phils for an extended time) FYI, there is a small satellite office of the FBI at the US Embassy in Manila...just in case we're wrong.

I submitted completed renewal documents to Cebu Immigration and was told that The police report was required for renewals including Philippine Embassy certification. I was planning to call the FBI office at the Manila Embassy for further clarification.

Just curious? Where did you have it done and when? How much did you pay? I know of a guy right now that is having trouble and he has an FBI report but did not get it certified by the Philippine Embassy in the US. Cebu is thinking it over whether they will accept it.
