Hi I would like to ask how can we send package from new york to dumaguete..what courier to use and where in dumaguete can we pick up the package thanks a lot
If it is small package or packet, I would use Fedex. The Air21 office on north hiway before NORSU, across from Jollibee serves the Fedex business here.
If you need it to arrive in a hurry, use one of the couriers Pato listed. Expect to pay dearly. If you are not in such a hurry, look for balikbayan shippers in your area. The local Filipino or Asian grocery will know who ships in your area, or try; Forexworld.com Manila Forwarder Balikbayan Box - Ship, Travel, Remit MFC - Home Page | Send your balikbayan boxes and money remittances Or do a google search for "balikbayan box shipping New York". All will deliver to your door. A 20"X20"X20" or so box should cost around $100 regardless of weight. It will take 6-10 weeks to arrive. Larry
FedEx or DHL if you are in a hurry. The U.S. mail if what you are shipping is not valuable (documents?) and you are willing to wait 1-4 weeks. I regularly get birthday cards etc from friends on the West Coast of the U.S. and it takes, on average 10 days to arrive when I was living in Bacong. Even when we weren't home the mailman would leave a "you've got mail" notice, and we would go get it at the Bacong post office.
Thanks for all the responses...by the way if I use DHL, where can i pick up the package. Thanks again Another question. How about in the post office?can we use that in sending package(a medium sized box)?
Be Warned. If you use any of the mail line courier companys UPS,DHL FEDEX etc, they will declare to customs the value & contents of the packages for import duty & are quite happy to spend your money for you, If you use USPS/Royal Mail they do not seem to get molested & customs dont hassle you for money.
how about if you send to the post office in dumaguete?has anyone tried using that? What is royal mail?where can i send?get that?thanks alot
