Anyone on their travels through vegetable markets in Metro Doomsville, seen small, white onions for sale? I guess I could also use pearl onions or shallots if available. Was planning to pickle onions this week, white & red varieties. I have a lot of malt vinegar & pickling spice, so wished to use quite a bit of it up. Already made pickled eggs, which have turned out well.
Never seen small white ones here. I made some pickled onions with very small red ones a while ago,just blanched them for a minute and straight into the jars. Theybwere very good albeit did not last long.
