Anybody miss old stores, cafes, shops that used to be here in Dumaguete?

I miss the old Blockbuster DVD movie rental place....used to be on the corner of Silliman and Perdices. (don't think it moved, just closed)

Someone, in passing, mentioned there use to be a Pizza Hut here. Wish it would come back, if it was the same quality as in the West.

There was the OK Market and Cafe,. It had great UK type fish and chips when the owner was present. I think it is totally gone now.

Not exactly sites or shops but.....Bakanawa, Bar Rocks, Ice Bar, Sizzlers, Zanzibar and any other local dive bar that has since been closed. Didn't really think about them much until recently but it would be nice to have a bit more diversity.

Happy Fred's. It was one of those places you either loved or hated. But that was the place I met a lot of my friends. And then there was Pirate Bay which opened in the same place, but it was a lot more tame and not so great when the owner was away.

I miss Mike's Dive shop being on the Boulevard. It was my favorite place to eat when it was here.

Private Garden when Dave owned it. He was a personality. DI had at least one meeting out there. The first I went to.

Coyote's. Probably one of most dysfunctional bars I have ever been to. Jenny was always good for stories. Both stories she told and stories she created while she was here. She was funny as hell too. And I can't mention Coyote's without mentioning the Pearl. Had lots of good times out there.

Thinking about places such as Barefoot, Garaje and Gimmick bring back a lot of memories but I don't really miss them since they were holes.

One of the early alternatives to WhyNot was Timeout. I didn't go there much, but still had some good times there.

Many of the places I have mentioned here were back in the day when there weren't many other places to go.
