:hmmm: Strange/Odd things we see? A car? what's odd about seeing a car? you may ask.
Well this particular Car is very rare in the UK let alone here.
Yesterday I went to the Bakers Shop in Batinguel as ours was Closed. As I was Cycling Past the Welders shop at Taclobo School road I got a Flat, No problem the Guy a couple of doors down was a Vulcanizer who had me up and Running in 15/20 Mins. As I waited I was looking around his Garden and at the back in a lean-to ( Open Shed) was one of these.
    Triumph herald.jpg

Circa 70's I would Guess. Now I have not seen one of them for a good 20+ years so I was surprised. I asked the Guy Who/How /Why? he smiled and said OH! it got left by a Foreigner when he Moved some 6/7 maybe longer I forget years ago and I can't move it. Suspension Shot and I can't get parts, did you try Triumph in India? OH I thought it was UK made. Well that one will have been but now triumph make things in India. OH! OK. Thank you. I won't Hold My breath on it as this "Herald" was the UK's First Fully Independent Suspension Car and could Turn on a Sixpence ( 10 Cents bit) as we used to say, Parts would be like Gold Dust. No, I fear it will never run again and would not even begin to think of the Rebuild cost even if he could get the parts but it was a pleasant surprise to see it sat there, although a great shame, it is going to Rot away in the End.

Anyone else come across things like this?

Drive very slowly through Valencia's side streets looking at people's houses and you will see a few cars that make you wonder how they got in the Philippines and what their backstory is. I imagine most of these types of cars are rarely driven because parts are impossible to find here. Also, when in Cebu I see plenty of antique muscle cars just sitting around collecting rust.

Sounds like Danny of Counting Cars would be salivating. Wonder if he would consider bringing his crew and doing a show in Philippines. I would love to be an 'extra' on that one.

They have a hot rod association on the old Clark Base in Angeles City, Pampanga and there are many, many classic cars to be found there most likely left over from when the U.S. Air Force was there. Also there are also some restoration facilities on the old base. See: Classic Speed Inc, BMT Restoration Inc. and Clark Philippines vintage car restoration by Classic Speed | Clark Pampanga Angeles Philippines Business Travel Restaurant Hotel Resort

Lots of old Mustangs and hot rods there.

LOL.... about 35 years ago a Viva car picked myself up along with 2 other friends. The Gent had to kick us all out as we could not make it up a hill. This
fancey car reminds me of that. Thanks for restoring an old memory,!

Reminds me of an old 1960's something Austin mini Cooper I owned back in early 80's in Spain (Rota).

The thing just wouldn't quit. Great little car I owned for 2 years only adding gas and oil occasionally and then sold for same price I paid for it when I transferred out.
