Two of these arrived via a friend of mine this morning, I txt him the other day and just asked he he ever saw tarantulas when he goes into the mountains, didn't expect him to ever find but he knows where to find most things here. Lives way up in the mountains.
This is a philippine dwarf tarantula, ( Phlogiellus baeri) they live in small tunnels in damp areas, only get to around 2in so not large species. The female is a bit feisty at the moment but she will calm down after a while.
There are larger species in the mountains along with scorpions and many other critters of you know where to look.

That is what asawa said, a few seconds after I valiantly charged past pushing her out of the way thereby saving her life, turning one potentially life threatening gagamba into a skid mark on the wall using the rubber end of my Crutch! :( (As in a Walking aid not wearing a Rubber on... Well I am sure you get it  lol)

Asawa was Oi? :( Spiders are our friend na!

Sorry; I beg to differ  hehe

I would GLADLY find ways of inviting more Lizards and Gecko's into the home to take care of these foul 8 legged creatures who escaped from Hell to reign terror upon those who scream like School Girls are the mere sight of one!! :p hehe

We used to have tarantula migrations in Texas, almost like a moving carpet. The imported Brasilian fire ants took care of that though, at least anywhere wet enough for the fire ants to live.
