The old bullet scam, although stopped completely in the Philippines, is now in Thailand. This is why it is very important to have all of your luggage secured with locks and never, ever lose sight of your carry-ons. I was warned by a retired Philippine Airlines employee airlines that people will put things into your luggage when you aren't looking.
