I had the chance to visit our so called convention center on working hours...and I say I was saddened by what I saw.. I've attended some parties there, we even held our candle-lighting ceremony there years ago though it was still quite new back then and the place still looks good. But when you visit it today you will notice that the place is poorly maintained.
then when I had the chance to visit one afternoon you can see the the people hired to take care of that place are not doing their jobs. They were just sitting on one corner doing nothing. then convention center is still new in building age yet it looks old and ugly because as i've mentioned it is not maintained well..the elevator is our order, there are chips on the stair, the glass windows are cloudy and covered with dirt.
i don't know how much the rent for that place is but I've heard it is quite high and you will wonder where the money is going...
I do hope this post will not be blocked by the administrator..I am telling a fact here..don't cover it up.

It's run by local government, thus it's current condition shouldn't really be a surprise.

That's just a matter of poor organization, I have been in the Event Cleaning Business and there were always agreements made between the
owner of the premises and the organizers of the Event how exactly the cleaning had to be done and after the work the result would be inspected by both parties and the Cleaning Company, very simple and effective, no hiding or lying....

you could change the word "convention center" and insert just about nearly any name in there and the story applies in the Philippines....

I really feel sorry about the post, although the things listed here are true (i agree and i hate lazy workers so much and dirty places) BUT this really doesn't reflect the entirety of the whole Philippines.
If you think it is, then why stay here in a "very dirty place" and just "complain about everything" when you can go back and live into your respective countries?
You are here in my land, my country, the Filipino people's country, even if you are against to some (or maybe "most") of the things here well, you are just a foreigner here, learn to respect because when we travel to your country we do respect your country. Even if you say "you don't care", well "WE CARE", because insulting is never a compliment.
Anyway, true, a lot of places here are very poorly-maintained and i feel sorry and disgusted to the people running those places. (but it doesn't give me the right to insult them).
