    Having recently loss my sister, her funeral was last Wednesday, not only does it remind one of your own mortality, but it throws up the financial cost of living in a Nursing home for any length of time. Some people might find the subject taboo, to even talk about such things, however we all have to face the prospect of old age, at some point.

    With that in mind, here are a few facts;
    The average price of care in the UK per week is between £900-£1200 per week depending in which part of the UK you choose to live. Full time 24/7 medical care can be much more expensive.

    Funeral Expenses;
    A modest funeral or Cremation service starts around £1800 or a burial approx £4200.
    Once more that will depend on the amount of cars used and does not include the cost of any refreshments for attendees , after the service.

    This subject is for UK Expats, who might be considering a return to the UK
    for personal reasons.
