A DOCUMENT attributed to Ambassador Philip Goldberg, former US ambassador to the Philippines, is reported to recommend that the US play hardball with President Rodrigo Duterte, in order to teach him “fear of the Lord.” This has been described as a “blueprint to undermine Duterte,” which many promptly interpreted as “ousting DU30.” It was first revealed in the Dec. 27, 2016 issue of The Manila Times in an exclusive report filed from Lisbon, Portugal by its chairman emeritus Dr. Dante A. Ang. It was a journalist coup. Not even The New York Times, the world’s most prestigious newspaper, has the distinction of its chairman emeritus interrupting his European holiday in order to file an exclusive—and explosive—news report. But the expose, for all its worth, has focused the nation’s attention on the perceived dangers to the DU30 presidency, without mentioning the clear and present danger posed by that presidency. Assuming the alleged Goldberg threat is real, DU30 has all the means to “neutralize” it, as he has the means to “neutralize” all the illegal drug personalities in the slums. It sounds more like some BS a Filipino completely fabricated, complete with Christian euphemisms, than something a Jewish diplomat would ever write back to the US about. Somebody is trolling...
I think the Republic may have some issues, but the US as an enemy ... not really. Duterte has to keep US in the highlighted news... the US is to Duterte as the Jews were to Hitler. By highlighting the US as evil bogeyman and keeping the focus off of Duterte as his newly appointed Frat brothers on teh BI scam 50 billion pesos... lol. Today Duterte pissed and ranted about the US not stopping China from building on the Spratly Islands, yet it was the Philippines, Duterte himself, that has keep ranting about getting the US out of the Philippines.... there is a choice, but you can have both the US out and the US protecting the Philippines at the same time in MHO... but the rants keep many of the Filipinos applauding the President they love. If Duterte is really concerned as much as he says about the sovereignty of the Philippines, he might considering stepping up against the Chinese himself or stop calling the US administration a "son of a wh*re", if you expect military protection, although I would like to call Obama a son of a wh*re myself but I guess I will have to wait until I am the leader of a country or..... . . Maybe Duterte expects the US to be embarrassed enough to bail out the Philippines with the Chinese. I am not an expert (so correct me) but I think the US military could build a solution to keep it military systems working in the area, at a cheaper price than going to war with the Chinese over the island construction. It is just funny to me.... gamesmanship at most out spoken form.

So very true! They need to spend less time bickering about trivial stuff and focus more on what they need to do to catch up in the real world. They really need to look outside that little box the seem to live in.
They don't bicker... That is just a show for the peasants in the front row... they just deny everything, and there are no more questions ask. You know that a Filipino would never lie about something that might get them in trouble. Their real world is hidden within their scenario of deception and denial while lubricated with Tanduay products.
