So who’s got the right away on the road here?
    1. The d#&*$@d that made a u-turn right in front of me?
    2. The s&%@#*>d on my right making a left turn right in front of me?
    3. The a^?>+/e easyride driver who suddenly stops on the hiway right in front of me?
    4. All the f/*&@%s who start up or come around a corner and come out in front of me without looking?
    5. All the morons above?

    All the morons

Answer: 5. All the morons above have the right away unless they are non-Filipinos, or actually care if they cause an accident...

Anyone interested in purchasing an armored car as a group effort which does not have identification on it and “de-moronsizing” the streets?

    Ceres Hire

I normally use the quiet back road from Sibulan through Matagas to come to my house in Daro, i prefer it to the Highway after a long tiring day working the land on my lot. However tonight i was astonished as there was a traffic jam, yes traffic jam of bikes, cars, jeepneys and all manner of lightless, brakeless, licenceless, documentless vehicles and contraptions !!! I am guessing there are PNP or LTO check points out tonight ? !!

Do i get candy if i am right?

From one of my earlier posts, there is always the possibility to hire a Ceres for the day or longer depending on budget, fit it with a snow plough, fill it with beer, Doritos, and angry expats, we can all have a go at driving, highest number of 'accidents' wins . . O-| :D
Perhaps someone should start taking names , I guess PatO u need a seat, possibly one with the big wheel, at the front ?

Actually, I saw a moronic foreigner, the other day, doing exactly what manhy of the Philipinos do, and that is pass, totally on the wrong side of the road a heavy line of traffic, and be at least one and a half metres from the centre of the road, on the wrong side, while I was travelling in the opposite direction with vehicles on my right side and behind me, with nowhere to go to miss this idiot, who was heading straight for me. Fortunately the riders on my right saw this and moved over for me, to allow me to avoid a nasty accident. This was outside Robinsons. Maybe this Foreigner has decided: " When in Rome........................?

Sorri about that, i must admit i have adopted the 'When in Rome' attitude, today alone whilst riding between Sibulan and Robinsons mall, i spat randomly, texted and read the reply, cut up a few cars and bikes whilst executing a left turn, stopped randomly in the middle of the road guestured to someone if they needed a ride, then did a U turn without looking . . Just another day in Paradise !!! :D
Seriously it probably was me, thanks for moving, nothing like the rush of adrenaline to make u feel alive - so much cheaper than morphine when it all goes wrong !!!

Well, if that was you, I have this to say:-

I have absolutely no objection to you killing yourself, but I would appreciate it if you would do it at a great distance from myself and my wife, who was sitting on my M/C behind me and was quite upset at the incident. So many accidents are caused by idiots who do not seem to get hurt, but, because of their stupidity, they cause injury to others.

PINOY ROAD RULES, or, PINOY RULE ROADS

. Well, i think Dave had it pretty spot on

    Thats it basically

If you are a foreigner..., ALL Filipinos have the right of way over you.

It is their country, therefore, they are their roads, don't forget that

This will be made very clear by the Pulis if you dont give way and actually collide with a Pinoy motorist.

In that case, the financial cost to you will be very great.

Now if both parties are Pinoy.., then the following rule applies:

A Pinoy motorist must always give way to the Pinoy motorist who has the least fear of death or dismemberment
(a bit like what we would call a chicken race/duel)

Now if both parties are Foreigners.., then the following rules may apply:

    Normal road etiquite

    or

The Foreigner motorist must always give way to the Foreigner motorist who has the least fear of death or dismemberment

    or

smallest must give way to the biggest

    eg.

    Pedestrians give way to Bicycles

    Bicycles give way to Motorbikes

    Motorbikes give way to Tricycles

    Tricycles give way to Cars;

    Cars give way to Jeepneys

    Jeepneys give way to Trucks

Ceres liners give way to nobody!

    General advice to Foreigners:
Let your Filipina wife drive (but only if she has a healthy fear of death), otherwise drive with extreme care

P.S. Stay safe guys, the hospital care there aint great, you could die from a boken leg

why not ask the LTO why the road conditions are the way they are??? Their very own mission statement says they want safe roads with safe vehicles and quality licensed drivers

Did you ever wonder why they stopped drivers tests here for locals????? None of the vehicles they showed up with were road worthy for one reason or another, defective brakes, defective lights, no seat belts, doors missing, windshield missing etc..and the best one.... no hand brake. This is a fact and i know its true because the former head of the LTO here was a fellow member in a service club here..O-|
