Has anyone spent any time in Canlaon City. Does the city have any real amenities like restaurants, stores, or hotels? Is the area pretty? Is it much cooler in temperature than at sea level? Any feedback would be appreciated.

We keep intending to go there, near top o' the list, but haven't yet.
I'd also appreciate some knowledge from those who have been...

When i was in Canlaon, 25 years ago, it was a comunity of farmers,NPA and military all living together in harmony.
That time, there was no electricity, just some farmers having a museum-piece Blackstone generator.
I don't think much has changed since then, so be prepared to pay local taxes to NPA and military.

I drove through Canlaon last year, but didn't think of it as a City. It seemed more like a small town, even smaller than Valencia but Wikipedia says there are some 50,000 people there. There is a Ceres bus terminal and a couple eateries, school, etc. but that was about it.
