    Greetings one and all

I’m after information in regards travelling on a motorbike with a ‘for registration ‘number plate outside of Dumaguete.
I plan to buy a new bike and want to travel possibly as far as Manila or across to Leyte.

    Q. want problems am I likely to encounter in regards the lack of number plate?

    Thanks

    Hi ya Larry
Thanks for the info, is it possible to expedite the number plate process? My first bike took about 4 months before I receive my plate.
Is it any quicker if I buy the bike in Cebu?

You could probably get around that problem by buying an almost new A1 second hand bike that's already registered and has plates...

I'm not sure what/how one could go about speeding it up. I bought a new bike in August. We decided to register it through Bais thinking it would be quicker. Just last week I got the plate,... without the sticker!

    1. within dumaguete you wont have problems, or perhaps within negros oriental. but the moment you step outside, say cebu, thats where trouble starts. and manila -- vultures everywhere! surprisingly, also leyte (ive been several times in southern leyte) and theyre incredibly strict considering their population.

    2. expedite, better visit LTO and ask them personally since circumstances vary from place to place. and i agree BAIS is where you could have it fast.

Well so far Bais has taken 6 months, and after finally getting the plate I still have no sticker. Not exactly what I would call "fast"!

i guess the plates are produced in cebu, and when they arrive in the different lto offices here in negros no announcement is made. so the first ones who get hold of their plate numbers are the ones who've requested them through the motorcycle dealers themselves. so i guess the best person to approach to have that monitored for you is the person your motorcycle dealer asks to go visit the lto office on a regular basis.
