I know it's a bit late to sign up (since it has already started) but there was some interesting information in this article. 125 to join 103-km Dumaguete-Bayawan run I don't think I could run a full kilometer these days. They mentioned some barefoot runners entering as well. Insane stuff.
Barefoot......yikes......they must be tough guys, that is unbelieveable. I am reluctant to drive the car on that road, worrying about excessive tyre wear........lol:D
Yes mate, a very rare vehicle, low km's, one owner, owned by a little old lady who only drove it on Sundays to Church, wanna buy it ?......lol:D
Slightly Off Topic a little but in the same vain. in 1984 a young South African Girl Zola Budd was Granted a British Passport ( Her father was British) just in time to compete in the Olympics, She broke impressively the 5.000 mtr world record. BAREFOOT She broke many records Barefoot but was stripped of one, the Comrades Marathon (rules Stipulating the type of running shoes to be worn) Sorry guys & gals just a bit of trivia before lunch
So. natural skin products were not on the list ? Seriously though, that is a real pity because she certainly achieved. Probably whoever came second was kin to the organiser...............
a long time ago now, I forget the reason totally and the outcome but she surely was one in a million.
I think she actually broke a world record for one of her distances, but it was not credited to her because of the SA Apartheid situation at the time, another instance where bloody politics interferes with sport. :( I believe she is living in the US now ?
