    I've been all over the VA website looking for a list of approved universities in the Philippines. They have an option for searching but the schools are not showing up in a search. I remember about 2 years ago there was a list available but seems to have disappeared from the net. I remember Silliman being on the list but I'm looking for a complete list.

    Anyone know which schools are approved here in Dumaguete or surrounding provinces? (Iloilo would be awesome, would give me an excuse to move out of here)

    Wrye83, good move, I attended school in the Philippines on the GI Bill back in the 80's, great experience!

    Below is the link to the website where you can search, there's a "Search by Country" link. (It won't let me link directly to any of the lower level pages)

    Weams Institution Search

    Just a note, approval is not just by school, but by specific programs within the school. So double check to make sure that the specific program you want is approved. If it's not, the school can request approval from the VA, but takes some time/paperwork, so plan ahead.

    BTW, Asawa and I starting to take a serious look at Iloilo ourselves for our eventual retirement. Love Duma and Negros, but considering the whole "best relatives are on another island" thing, etc. Saw your older posts on your visit there, very encouraging! :smile: And since she was born in Neg. Occidental but then moved to Oriental, she speaks Illongo as well as Visayan/Cebuano, another plus.

    Hopefully this link works, should give you all the VA approved schools in the Philippines. Unfortunately, can't search by province, but I did get some hits by typing "Iloilo" or "Visayas" in the school name search box. Otherwise, you'll have to know the name of your school and search for it.

    Thanks guys. Appreciate the help. But looks like I'm going to have to put this on hold again as I've been asked to go back to Afghanistan.

    Every single time I start seriously looking into colleges I get a job offer. (no biggie as I already finished college and was only looking at doing it for the housing allowance)
