Anyone know how one would go about getting from Valencia to Amlan and back the same day? I have a pass with my name, a drivers license and registration, gf is from Amlan and is unable to drive herself. She has a work permit from her employer in Dumaguete but no pass for entry in Dumaguete. If I could drive her all the better. If not what would other options be?
Go very early in the morning.. just after the curfew lifts.... I've heard the check points are slow to get going really early. Only hear say though ...any others found this? Then if you do get stopped wing it by saying it is a family emergency she needs to go home for. Her journey is one way I assume? Another, perhaps safer, option is to ask the Barangay Captain for a letter authorising it as a one off.
The journey would be a round trip. Could go early morning but return would have to be the same day as I don't think either of us would stay overnight. The purpose of the trip is currently quite vague. I will need solid justification before I commit to such a trip.
I've recently obtained a 'floating' barangay pass (through a local contact) to go out shopping with the wife (took my medication boxes just in case questioned why two of us need to go - I drive and stay in the car, she gets out and buys the medication). Passed through checkpoints just showing the two passes and no questions asked. That was Friday, but on the new purple passes.
do you know the route to the sibulan end of the diversion rd? according to google maps, the route actually passes thru duma borders twice but since valencia and sibulan are in the same cluster, they should let you pass to camanjac. i passed thru camanjac on day one of the EQ and there was no check point at the camanjac end of the camanjac/sibulan rd., however, there was a checkpoint in camanjac to get on the rovira rd going east to duma proper. next will be a san jose/amlan cluster check point, if there is one, which you should be able to get around by taking to the mountain roads while in san jose. google maps is your friend, search sibulan n.o., then san jose, n.o. and dumaguete n.o. and you can see the borders *IF* google maps is correct. habel-habel drivers would know the route.
I know the back roads quite well. Didn't realize until just now that Amlan was in a different cluster. That makes it much more difficult and risky IMO. I wouldn't attempt the trip without a memorandum from the Barangay Captain here in Valencia. Seems like it would be nothing but trouble and, minus a life or death situation, wouldn't be worth the trip.
Just take her to the amlan jeepney terminal and from there is an LGU bus to take the locals home its at 7am and there is also one at 9am. if you go on to the amlan LGU facebook page it will give the times i have used that particular bus to get to dgte twice, i went in on the 6am bus and came back out on the 9am bus
The last day of GCQ I went through those mountain roads and each baragay had a checkpoint, some taking temps as well. I don't think you can just pass through them anymore, but i also haven't tried since then.
can gf not borrow a quarantine pass from a senior citizen? then she's allowed to go shopping in Duma - that's the way me and my honey go out
