A heads up. Not sure if I got screwed or not or the cost of annual vehicle registration is higher than I remember. My B-I-L took my car to the smoke free by Cangs to get the required test and have them process the LTO piece as well. I was shocked to see the total cost was 3809P. Philippines is enforcing you to purchase a new black and white plate to replace the green and white one - cost 450P. The motor vehicle registration cost was 2300P. The smoke free was 330P. The rest was miscellaneous charges including them handling the LTO process. Has anyone else registered since the new plate requirement last April?

I'm curious on this as well, my big bike (and probably every other motorcycle I have) is going to need to be registered soon. @PatO are they enforcing the special screws to be installed by an LTO employee (or other "certified" person)?

@PatO Pat! Did the LTO say how long you had to wait for your new plates? My nephew was there this morning and he said he was told they are not in Stock yet!o_O In fact if my memory serves me right, I read somewhere that the LTO was having difficulty with Manufacture and Delivery of the new Plates.

I wonder if we will see again, money taken and no Goods

The guys at Smoke Free did not mention when the new plates will arrive. I wasn't there.

It's probably something like the stickers for plates, you get them twelve months after you pay for them if you're lucky!

That is exactly what it is. Money and services not rendered. What can you do though?

 Nothing I guess but... once again, they change a rule and they are just not ready. Are we not back to the time element. Timeing is Everything to us (The Foreigner) do we not Win Wars Usually because of it? Be one day late on Extension and pay, pay, Pay:mad:
Or maybe they want to Collect enough cash before they order so they have some cash to actually pay for them?
Mind Boggling Thoughts and Opinions will follow this I can see

Meh, when I'm there I am never in a hurry to do anything. I show up when I show up and if what I am showing up for is not there I go do something else. Almost everything can wait until tomorrow. When I do go into town I make sure I have a list of around 10 things that needs to be done (and make sure that at least one of the tasks involves an expat), that way I know I will at least accomplish 1 of the things I intended to do and I won't feel like the day was a total waste. I think most just need to lower their expectations. Do you watch the Special Olympics and expect to see world records being set? No, it's inspiring to just watch them try. Just smile and say "you did a good job" even if they don't finish the race and they'll be as happy as a pig in sh*t.
