the good kind that will shoot 10ft or more. i'm working on the roof gutters of a 12 year old unmaintained house that's been a habitat to critters for years. this morning i disturbed a lampinig nest (small wasp kinda critter), talk about a powerful injection, 4 stings knocked me down for several hours. Baygon Multi Insect Killer kills them but only sprays a couple of feet. the Baygon cockroach spray with a straw nozzle won't even spray that far. there's gotta be a better product out there. thanks... norm : ))~
I looked for the wasp 'bomb' before and could not find it here. I almost bought some in Canada and brought it back with me and then got an email from the gf that she had hired a local man to get rid of the wasps for me so no need for the wasp bomb. But your post gives me an idea. Using a pressure washer, we could put water based Baygon in the soap dispenser and it would spray quite far. Anyone tried that?
Something I have learned and done many times about "Lampini" stings, get your "pinky" and dig out some earwax(the overly clean ones are at a disadvantage here)and rub it in at the point of the sting, one can see the tiny red mark, repeat 2-3 times, one will not feel the sting anymore after 5 minutes and will not develop the serious swelling that apear otherwise... Be especialy aware that you cover your mouth when they are around as they are known to attack very fast and invisible... You are in serious troubles if one get's to sting in the throat...
In the garden we kill them with fire and around the house with kerosin and a spraybottle... No need for poison...
A plastic spray bottle with a fairly high concentration of liquid dish soap should work on wasps also. Tobacco seems to be good for stings, doesn't matter what kind just spit on it knead it and apply to the sting, it usually takes the pain away pretty fast.
This speayers they use to spray the mango tree's shoot a long way. For sale in any agrivet, looks like a bicicle pump. cost150 peso and up.
I've used Water, vinegar and dish soap, for an effective insect killer i.e. roaches, ants, wasp etc. Ecologically sound, safe around pets, humans. Not so much safe for the intrusive in-law that may "stumble" in the line of spray, unless Tanduay is substituted for water. A sprayer similar to this allows you to make in quantity after use just release pressure and store away. View attachment 11456
Everywhere online recommends using soapy water to kill Wasps, sounds a strange way to kill them but try searching for 'DIY Kill Wasps' and almost every Post recommends the soapy water method. A Pressure Bottle or Sprayer such as these below filled with a mix of Liquid Washing Detergent and warm water would work well, but; *Do not use HOT Water as the heat will soften the outer case of the inner Pump, and when you create a vacuum by pumping, it distorts the tube, sucking it into itself making it unusable once it cools. *Hindsight is 20/20 View attachment 11472 View attachment 11473
An insects body is covered with holes that they breath through, the soap plugs them up, like putting nail polish on a tick. The wasps just won't hold still while I put nail polish on them.
