View attachment 9798 some photos from the amazon jungle and some from Lima peru and most from my time here now in trujillo beach area...The jungle scenes are all of course the amazon, all others are the slight foggy and brown landscape of trujillo and lima..the dried pirana fish is of course from the amazon jungle in Iquitos jungle city area

Great pics all of them. I may assume that the fuel prices shown in one of the pics the quantity is by a gallon or..........if by a litre it costs a fortune driving a car there, which I cannot believe in that part of the world.
South America is a great continent to stay and live (Spanish if my favourite among foreign language), if I ever will decide to say farewell to the PH than Peru or any other neighbouring country there might become an option.

those are gallon prices yes and they are in Peruvian SOLES = 2.77 to 1$ ....but look at the price of the GLP=1.55 soles ..and lots of natural gas fitted vehicles here..it cost next to nothing to drive natural gas.....But the regular gasoline prices converted to dollars are still same as high end prices in USA,central america and philippines....The petrol produceing region in iquitos amazon jungle had lower prices than these which are in lima...

they use the sole:S/2.77=$1.00....i am renting monthly in a hotel right now and it cost $250. or S/700.. a small apartment can go for around S/500 or $160 and up...Its possible to go cheaper if you seek out very rural areas with less to offer...MY hotel icludes all utilities and cable with the TV and i get to use the washing machine..I have a small fridge and get to use the hotel roof balcony restuarant kitchen with gasul/propane included.........This is in trujillo 2nd biggest city in peru...lima can be the same price but easier to find more expensive there....Utilities go beyond me right now but i really think its cheaper here than philippines and definitely much more stable supply...I noticed most places have well to pump to tank water systems.........I eat out every day and the food here is excellent and very diverse...many varieties(200 or more)of potatos and many varieties of beans and grains and the veggies are always huge and fresh and very diverse...so many herbs here i cant begin to know what they are,its no match to thailand cuisine but its the next best thing......It is cheap here and not hot at all even in the desert regions,in fact its always a little bit cold, most people wear sweaters or jackets round the clock....there is a hot region far north but still its dry desert and not as hot as filipines.........$750 monthly is my total expense and thats bus fare 3 meals at cheap restuarants, kilos of fruit a day and bus fare to the city, internet use, rent and misc personals..and by no means is this a scrapeing by budget for a single man...$500 is very possible in a cheaper rental and eating at home...less than $500 monthly if you eat out at the market which can be up to 50% cheaper food but a dirtier environment....Taxi in trujillo is S/5.oo or less than $2, bus is S/1 to S/1.5 and thats for rideing in town or to the out skirts/nearest pueblo or town.....Remember this is trujillo, lima can be more expensive or the same if you stay off the foriegner tracks......Never change money on the streets as there are much more counterfiets and slide of hand magicians here(i lost $50.oo my first week)....airfare around the country is not great like the philippines..its more like $100 to $300 here on major routes and more often near $200. range.....visa entry here is 6 months granted and exit to ecuador is my choice in 6months and then re-enter for another 6months...Residency and even naturalization is possible and includes right to work, own property and businesses...i think property ownership is possible without residency but then can lead to residency granted as long as basic requirements are met...............any way thats it right off the top of my mind for now...ask more and i am here able to snoop around....NO JOKE;THE FOOD HERE IS GREAT
