Harold, this is interesting, please keep us posted on your progress. I have both Cignal and Dream dishes and found out the dishes are interchangeable, just need the unique box. I would think you could buy the inexpensive Dream dish and the GSAT box. I wonder if this is the same Direct TV available in the US. Their Philippines tv channels look similar to Cignal but with additional channels.
For information, Cignal and Dream have combined their Dumaguete services operating out of POS.
I am still waiting for more information on the military satellite receiver Travellingman is/was offering for sale.

PatO, someone told me GSAT is cheaper than Dream and Cignal. I will try to ask from POS if they're also offering GSAT aside from the two you mentioned.

I tried contacting GSAT's customer service through email earlier but I was referred to their Cebu branch. The thing is, I know someone from Sibulan who's using GSAT and he said he purchased the unit just here in Dumaguete. So I was wondering what shop/store offers it here.

Thanks for the replies PatO, really appreciate it!

    Regards,

    Harold

Cignal costs me 1280 a month plus whatever the installation charge was. Dream is cheaper but you don't get HD channels, unless that has changed recently. I looked at GSAT on the internet and it looks like the Philippines charge is 300 a month so definately worth checking out.

Someone told me yesterday it's around P2500/unit... at P300/month with 28 channels, it's a good deal. Thanks PatO!
