Guys, need infos from you minds Which is the best among this 3 international schools in Negros Oriental a. Negros Oriental Montessori International School b. Royal Oaks International School c. Divine Grace International School
There are no "International Schools" in Dumaguete, some claim to teach an international style curriculum but none of the courses would be accepted by a proper International School,, say for example like the American School or the British School in Manila.
Silliman has a program for kids at age 3, not sure what the program is but I will be sending my boy there when the time comes to get him to mix with other kids and prepare to go to elementary school there.
Negros montessori is not the real thing, their school in talay is mortgage to duplamilco and is past due it will be forclosed soon.
I'm not interested with the mortgage of ones school. The H*** I Care! I just wanna ask which is better among these 3 schools I mentioned. I wanna transferred the kids from the other school with an international touch with less Filipino subject. I know there aint no international accreditation I cant find the infos over the net for this 3 schools, I'm on my way to ask them, but at least there are this 3 schools here in Neg. Or. with an international school in the name.
Well, actually there are a lot of "International" schools in Dumaguete or well, atleast schools bearing the title "international" with them. Just today, we drove a round from Motong highway turned left going to the Water District (i dunno the real name of the building but this is where you pay your water bills) and there was a school there named Southdale International School. So i dunno, maybe you want to check that out too.. :D Oops, sorry just check out the net. Nope, it was Southdale Integrated School.. sorry.. but what schools i found bearing the title "international" are these schools: Joshua Generation International Academy oops, i think that's just it.. (uhm, i'm kind of writing in a "speaking manner" so it feels like more of an actual conversation as evident by the "wrong infos" but corrected anyway.. anyway, you may want to check out that Joshua something international school! :D) aw, academy rather..
We sent our kids to the Montesorri School in Talay for summer classes last year. Although I found it too expensive for my budget, I thought that the curriculum was very good and the teachers competent. The Director (also teaches) was very knowledgeable and had extensive experience in the Montesorri method of teaching in the US before returning and starting this school. You will find a couple bad comments about the school on this Forum but when I spoke to the Director about them, she was well aware of that particular person's comments and was able to provide me with her perspective on that subject. I think it would be worth your time to visit that school to form an opinion. The school is located on the road between Dumaguete and Valencia, on the right hand side heading west. I read in another post on this forum about the Elementary and High schools at Foundation University that are apparently good. I think the person that posted the thread mentioned that the Principal was Canadian and follows more internationally accepted teaching methods. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of that infomration but if I lived closer to Dumaguete I would investigate that option also. If you want to expand your search a little further, Don Bosco on the South Highway, St. Paul's Academy On the North Road and Silliman (as mentioned by PatO), Cosca, and Holy Cross (a Chinese Catholic school) in the center of town might also be worth investigating. The ABC Learning Center also attracts many of the more "financially able" local folk.
