    wifi at robinsons?
i live out in the sticks and use a smart-slow usb modem to connect to the i'net, it's so slow that i can't do updates and any serious surfing. well, i'm stretching it a bit, i can do an update in the wee hours if the connection doesn't break in the process so i've been logging onto various ''unsecured'' connections at robinsons' food court when in town but i find my smartbro modem faster tho still slow to do much in the 1.5 hour my laptop battery lasts. i had an excellent connection the 1st time i tried wifi in the food court but i haven't been able to find that connection again. i'm curious what connections other i'net surfers are using at robinsons'.

    thanks...

Try using the wifi connection at Bo's Coffee at the rear of the mall. You can comfortably operate in an air-con environment and also plug in to the mains so that you are not limited to the duration of your battery charge, leaving there with a fully charged battery.

tried Rob too with tablet and I get thru if I persist...they have a limit of number of connections so you are lucky if you get in... yes Bo's is a good alternative.

My favorite Wifi areas were you can surf while drinking beer

If I were to say something about WIFI @ Robonsons Dumaguete, its not consistent. You rarely get the connection perhaps one or twice a month. Its more somekind like, their ROUTER is always "ON" but there aint no internet service coming. Very incompetent wifi service compared to wifi at hypermart, Lee plaza and Cangs where wifi is always consistent. Maybe they should remove that board at their entrance stating Robinsons Mall a wifi zone.

maybe their DHCP server was not able to assigned you an IP address because it was full already that's why you can't surf the internet even you're connected to the access points.

Really? How come at Ayala Malls or at SM Malls where people are x10 or x20 of people around compared to Robi of Dgte how come when youre on that 2 malls I mentioned, you can easily get an access for internet connection. Not to mentioned Robinsons Galleria or Manila got good net connections as well. If you observe Robi Dgte there are less people with gadgets and less buying power that made some kiosk/ stores are closing down.

maybe i'm a doe-doe, i had the hypermart password but i couldn't get online at hyper so i used my smart-slo stick til my battery petered out. my last time at hyper, i plugged into the mains and was trying to get online when an attendant informed me i'd hafta pay p40 to use the power. well, jeeze... it's p15 per hour w/mains at the ciber next to uymatio.

but i'll try bo's coffee, hope they serve rice there for my gf : )

    thanks...
