Yes well, in '99 there were none of the artists performing at the original festival. The earlier reprise in '94 was pretty good in my memory (watched part of it on tv). Couldn't hold a candle to the iconic original though, despite much better sound quality. And no, I wasn't there in '69 (couldn't afford to fly there), so had to make do with watching the 3 hour movie that came out a few months later, in a theatre in the Netherlands. I do fondly recall (almost) the entire audience at the theatre joining in with Country Joe McDonald during his Vietnam protest song "give me an F - what's that spell", "Whoopie we're all gonna die".
