If you have never been to the Philippines, and if you are planning to visit our country, please do not miss Dumaguete City the capital city of Negros Oriental Province.  Dumaguete City is known to be the city of Gentle People. Dumaguete City is the most urbanized city of the province. This city is also the center of education in the whole Region 7. A side from the fact that this city has the biggest number of universities and colleges, this city is now booming with a lot of new restaurants and food chains. The people in Dumaguete have the great obsession for food. With this scenario, business entrepreneurs have decided to build more new restaurants and food chains. In this article, I would share to you one unexpected area in Dumaguete City that is now commercialized and is now trending in the City. The word of mouth is really common in this place. When one discovers a great place, people would immediately surround and gather at the specific area. If a new establishment will open, people would never miss the special opening. Long lines for food chains and fully booked for restaurants. You won’t be surprise if you would always see a sign soon to open in a certain building. Almost every month, a new restaurant would open.

In line with this new trend, the marketing strategies are really a thrill. Each establishment would be pressured to offer a lot of new promos and new dishes as there is always a new and better competition. But after all, each establishment is unique. One Barangay in Dumaguete is now making some noise in the industry. This is barangay Piapi. A lot of newly built restaurants, bars, food chains, food stalls and even a new improved bakery can be found here. Barangay Piapi is in the northern side of Dumaguete City. Many years ago, this area used to be quiet as it is also a residential area and a school zone. But as years go by, one by one, establishments have been built here. And as of today, you would really see the new changes and improvement of this Baranagay. As a resident of Barangay Piapi for 22 years myself, I could really see the changes. I am actually proud that I live here. At the same time, it is convenient for me because it’s just near our house. Now, to give you some ideas about what I am talking about, here are some old and new restaurants and food chains in Barangay Piapi:

This is the original and authentic shawarma in town.. They offer the most incredible and unique shawarma in Dumguete City. It is very delicious and affordable.

This located just across Tarbush. If you want to chill and unwind, this place is the one for you. Satisfy your food cravings here at a very affordable price.

The world “Barkada” means a group of friends. This bar is for adults and teenagers who like to chill and relax.
