General Statement: What is not understood here by most business operationers is the foreigner mentality of customer loyal and brand build up. Part of that loyalty by the foreigner crowd is that we are minorities here, and like to go to places we feel comfortable with, not changing the establishments we purchase more times than we change our underwear. If they can over charge you for one drink and put an extra 10 P in their pocket, it does not matter to them if they never see you again. Remember it is only what they can do to get that next meal here, not what they should do to insure a a healthy business that provides a long time livelihood here for them..

Said here many times by many members, but IMO you cannot do better than Premier Dental Care Solutions (opposite side of the main highway from Robinson's Mall and heading south).
Premier Dental Care Solutions, Tan Alley Building, South Road, Tabuc Tubig, Dumaguete City. +63.917.174.5005 +63.998.957.5397 +635.421.05.79 premierdcs@gmail.com Website: http://www.premierdent.net/home.html

The premises are very modern, clean and well equipped and the dentist (Dr Julie Flor Cordeta) has over 14 years experience, is very well trained, very caring, highly competent and totally trustworthy. The whole set-up is very professional.

If only every service was the same, we would be living in Paradise.

I have no connection to this service, except as a patient.

Err, no. IATF, like every government agency on the planet that is tasked to advise/decide on measures to contain the epidemic is struggling to find a balance between
    a. keeping the spread of covid-19 down enough to avoid overwhelming available hospital beds and collapse of medical services.
    b. tailoring measures to keep the spread further down among the most vulnerable groups (older people) and among the group that's most likely to get infected and spread it to family members (children)
    c. pressure from those suffering economic hardship

Does that mean they get it right all of the time and don't make mistakes? No of course not.
But calling them "crazy", thus inciting people to disregard whatever restrictions they impose, is totally irresponsible.
As far as I know the lack of proper PPE for hospital staff has still not been resolved in this country. People who wish to disregard restrictions are basically saying it's fine if more nurses and doctors die because of their actions.

People in this country should realise that
    a. medical facilities here are a long way from being comparable to developed nations (hospital beds in Germany per capita are 6x what they are here, ICU beds are 10x what the Philippines has)
    b. access to medical care for many in this country simply doesn't exist.
    c. the virus doesn't care about any of that.

Moreover, as bad as Covid-19 already is here, the Philippines has still been relatively successful so far, in most developed nations there are between 3 and 8 times as many cases per capita as here.
And yes, if only because of its fragile healthcare system, this country should try really hard to keep cases down.
In my view, if anything, the measures to control the spread of Covid-19 are not strict enough, rather than too strict already.

If your only response to me giving you an 'abhorrent' for your 'Smith and wesson' reply when everyone else if trying to help keep this dog alive and understands the kindness of the new owners, is to give me an abhorrent back for my positive suggestions, then I feel sorry for you. I know you often comment on the Forum in a ranting and negative fashion and I am sure many have figured out your personality by now.

I don't care about an 'abhorrent' or 'trollin' - in fact, you went through my previous posting and gave me SIX negative ratings today! One (a dislike) was even for my information on a Comet!! VERY sad man. They are only 'marks on paper' and mean nothing if they come from someone like you. Coming from the decent folks on here would force me to rethink my attitude. In your case, it is a joke. I like jokes.

That is the hallmark of we expats... the World is full of people our age that grew up and grew old and eat out at at 5pm for the senior citizen special. Those of us who defied age struck out searching for a second youth.... hats off to my fellow expats who saw age as just a number .... Huzzah !!

The Wuhan Institute of Virology lab is located just 20km from the fish market that is the claimed source of the virus. The first 14 reported cases had no contact with the fish market. For the past year the WIV has been using CRISPR technology to modify the corona virus in bats. They actually published several papers on their work. Analysis of the RNA of this new virus shows that it is a bat originated virus, and has a new gene element in the RNA structure that effects the proteins of the spikes on the virus making it extra virulent. The lab that did this analysis says this is not a genetic anomaly that could have happened by spontaneous mutation. The new gene element discovered in the virus is nearly identical to a gene from the HIV virus. A cocktail of HIV medications has so far been found to be the most promising treatment.

Okay, who knows, maybe all of that stuff is just coincidental.

Go see Mike Berovic in Sibulan. You are actually very lucky to be here with his services so close by. Berovic Chiropractic Clinic

He fixed my back and neck problem i had for over 30 years. If he needs X-ray he will send you to Silliman, if he needs you to see a dr he will send you to Silliman or better. But if he can help you he will, and he probably will help you I am sure.

I was posting quite a bit some years ago when were building our house, which led to great conversations and some truly good friends that we met along the way.

Not as much to post now, other than a few projects on the house here and there (I do need to update a few previous posts as things were completed).

Really do thank the many posters as we've found some nice restaurants and places to find things we were looking for that would have been more difficult without this forum.

"(if possible)" Since 1970 I sailed with my boat(s) in the sub- and tropics mostly wearing shorts only or nothing at all so getting melanoma was not a surprise to me. But the melanoma on the sole of my foot was. Dec 6 th I'm operated in Chong Hua after extensive/expensive testing a.o. a MIR off the foot what gave a good impression of the cancer spread . They cut out accordingly and removed a big slap 5"x 5"x 5/16".
Biopsy of the slap turned out good, no spreading so now I have to go for regular lymph node controle and try to get my foot back in shape.
Total cost incl previous treatments/tests about P 200,000 whereof Phil Health covered P 36,000.
