It's done in Bohol, Iloilo, Bacolod, Puerto Princessa last few years, moving the airport out of town. And those are just the airports I coincidentally know of.

The fact that there are more serious issues to take care of is totally irrelevant, thats whats so hard to see here. Its about making money, filling the pockets and for sure thats what is going to happen. Look at all the roads and bridges being rebuild up north, its crazy and for sure there is better use for that money. Just put some tarmac on those cement roads, lots of it was just made last five years after the quake.

But projects like that will all ways happen if there is money to be made for people in the 'right spot'.... So also with the bacong or antulang airport.... or wherever it will be.

 

I moved from Bacong to Valencia the third week of April and these folks did a great job. Nestor, the driver, (not sure of the name spelling), and Jim came to the house after we called them to discuss the move. We made plans and got the rates. They have a printed rate sheet. Nestor texted the day before the move to confirm. They came on time, carefully loaded my things, were serious and hard working. They made two trips and both times were very careful with my things and worked quickly. I would recommend them highly to anyone. They told me they have done moves to other islands some even overnight moves. Good Job and Thanks WEDO.

 

How hard is it to get through immigration? Give your passport, say "good evening, morning or afternoon" stamped , a thank you and then head to pick up your bags. Rarely do I even get asked how long my stay will be.

 

You seem to be a person who likes to be organized - and that is a good thing - but you need to lose that trait in The Philippines or you will become very frustrated.

 

One of the best laughs I've had on this site since I joined. I mean if they can't even build a ring road, bypass for the town, what hope for a monorail?

 

You did the right thing. You made your concerns clear to the person involved. Anything beyond that would get you labeled as a trouble maker. The work would have gone on even if you had complained AND the guys would still be dead AND somehow it would be the foreigners fault. Again, you did the right thing, IMHO, and thanks for sharing.
