One of the best laughs I've had on this site since I joined. I mean if they can't even build a ring road, bypass for the town, what hope for a monorail?

Just an update on this: I finally got a hold one of my friends that's a nurse at Silliman and she knows of the man. She is going to try to get some more information on exactly what kind of assistance the guy is needing tomorrow and get back with me.

You think that bridge is bad, check the bridge just finished outside bambulo, could not get concrete with steel pillars into ground so cut off 15 ft for the hell of it. Undersized steel and many other cost cutting options!
I won't name the construction company bit I'm sure most Will know who.
Anyone who builds the way they do would be locked up in the western world.-

I usually avoid Muslim controlled areas unless I am being paid to be there (and have military protection). Anywhere in the ARMM (and it's surrounding provinces) is my personal "off limits" area here. I do not care if people have traveled or lived there for decades without incident, nothing will convince me that Muslims are peaceful and tolerant of other's beliefs/culture. I've been to far too many Muslim countries to know that is simply NOT true.
Even the "peaceful" Muslim countries/areas outside of the Philippines have sticks shoved so far up their @ss that anything a normal human would consider fun has likely been outlawed. I simply do not like anyone/group that forces their religion on other people, especially through laws/government. Not saying they don't have a "right" to control their own laws and area.....I'm just not going to go there and give them my tourist money. I'm sure they will figure it out when their oil runs out and the rest of the world doesn't need them anymore. (And if they want a glimpse of what their future will look like after their oil is gone all they have to do is look to the ARMM in the Philippines. The religion is simply not compatible with peace, stability and modern life and certainly not compatible with economic stability.)-

Hey maybe make the boulevard only pedestrian, that would go a long way, it would be nice to eat a peaceful meal whilst not shouting at each other and breathing in fumes! They been talking about it for years.

Using strong language doesn't exactly help to convince people to join your apparent disapproval of monarchies.
Yes, monarchies are relics of the past, but any time would be a better time than now to discuss the supposed benefits of a republic.-

- Thread: The pace of Life
I feel the pace of life has gotten slower and getting shopping done has gotten easier and less stressful. I've noticed no changes in driving habits here, just as stupid and frustrating as it has always been. Filipinos seem to be just as friendly as before the pandemic.
My gf regularly shows me ridiculous and outrageous behavior on TikTok but I'm not sure if this is something new or something that we just now have eyes on because the platform makes that stuff go viral. I know greedy, corrupt, inconsiderate and rude @ssholes have always existed...they are just getting put on video now because everyone has a camera in their pocket. I think this is good for society though, makes people better behaved as any public display of ridiculous behavior could wind up getting you in trouble or shunned by society.-
