I went in at 2pm Friday to the Robinsons branch to get an early renewal as I will be away on the actual renewal date. Medical and drug test done in 15 minutes. Went next door to LTO and within a couple of minutes had pic taken and OR in hand. Told to come back at 7am Monday for licence. Turned up today at 6.40am and place was already up and running with about 12 people sitting inside and one with the encoder. I handed the encoder my paperwork, including xerox of travel ticket and was told to take a seat. Two minutes later I was called to the encoder and ten minutes after arrival I walked out with a new 5-year licence. One of the few benefits of being a senior!!! Result!

Weekly update: Progress looks a lot less impressive as we get nearer to the finish line! However, the first two units have all their fixtures and fittings in situ now and the 2nd two will have their doors and windows fitted on Monday. The street-side end of the 2nd unit has been rendered and all outside painting will be done by the end of next week. The next challenge is getting our electricity cooperative to hook up the permanent connection - that is never fun and can be time-consuming. 2018-02-03 16.46.20.jpg 2018-02-03 16.46.34.jpg 2018-02-03 16.47.34.jpg 2018-02-03 16.48.30.jpg 2018-02-03 16.57.12.jpg 2018-02-03 16.46.20.jpg 2018-02-03 16.46.34.jpg 2018-02-03 16.47.34.jpg 2018-02-03 16.48.30.jpg 2018-02-03 16.57.12.jpg 2018-02-03 16.57.30.jpg

You still haven't indicated that you have visited this business. I'm not interested in your anonymous 2 cents being posted here that is intended to do nothing but bring this business, that you haven't even visited, down. I've given you a permanent reply ban to this thread and any related to this restobar. If you wish to have this reply ban removed you will need to actually visit this restobar, get pictures of you there ordering food and then eating it and then send me a PM with the post you would like to make on this thread.

Just a guess here, but I think you should look over this forum rule:
as I highly suspect there is a conflict of interest going here.

It seems to me Valencia's LGU has (had?) a somewhat larger budget to concrete barangay roads. Maybe they had some windfall profits connected to the electricity plant contracts, I don't know, but it seems to me that the concrete runs out around Bacong a lot faster than around Valencia. Obviously, because generally people prefer living on a concreted road rather than on a dirt road/path, that means higher prices for lots. Other than that it would seem to me there's not much difference in terms of available services for residents, apart maybe from the "free water" thingy in Valencia. Oh, and PLDT has connected much of downtown Valencia with their FTTH (fibertothehome) project. Not sure how that is in Bacong.
As for individual preferences, well, some prefer to live close to the city (Dumaguete), some prefer the slightly cooler nights and more precipitation in Valencia, some want to smell the ocean when they wake up, nothing wrong with any of those.
As far as lot prices go, 2-2.5k per sqm along a concreted road not too far from downtown seems to be the going rate for Bacong/Valencia, going toward Dumaguete from either of the two land gets pricier the closer you get. Where we are in Bagacay the going rate seems to be around 4k per sqm now, Daro is closer to 7k.
Mind you, if you're not in a hurry to buy it might pay to wait around a bit before buying.

I just wish they would stay to the right of the roads so people driving at reasonable speeds could easily get around them. Not that anyone else does that, there is absolutely no point to 4 lane highways, or even wider 2 lane roads, here other than having a parking spot the entire length of the highway.

It's true that initially most Governments didn't know what they were dealing with or how to handle it.
To a lesser degree they still don't have answer today, apart from social distancing which I'm sure you have read or seen is being ignored by many in a lot of countries.
Until a vaccine is marketed, you can expect highs and lows in the numbers of positive's
It is also stated that persons with health problems are more likely to die from the virus..... and that due to the loosening of restrictive travel a second spike is likely.
For most people, the fact that they have mild symtoms, makes them feel the virus is not as serious as we are lead to believe!
Well I can assure the doubters that having a friend (Filipino ) who I have always considered fit and healthy here in UK, spend over 50 days in hospital mostly on a ventilator.......
This is not the time to be complacent!

One thing a person who handles firearms always learns, never fire a 'warning' shot, that bullet will land somewhere, and it could possibly be into an innocent person. Another thing, never brandish a weapon unless you are prepared to use it.
