Well, the OP did write "Hope this helps. If not can someone explain please." There cannot be a much clearer view of this person understanding part of his dilemma and asking (very politely) for help if he had not explained clearly or accurately enough. We all have something 'special', be it knowledge, skill or experience and can use that to improve the lives of those around us (including members of this forum). We do not need to try to belittle other people who have less expertise in our field - this is what you did. All it needed was to state the facts as you see them and give further advice - and it really IS possible to do that in a pleasant manner (as I am doing to you now). I am sure the OP, a seemingly very nice person, would have appreciated that. You are not the only person who sometimes writes like this but why not all of us make life better for everyone else as pleasantly as we can.

funny enough that many filipinos I talked to wish to relocate to germany, maybe because; after many buts, everything there is simply reliable. btw, what do you find too expensive here? prices for local stuff and services are ok for me, if you know what you should pay, no problem here in Duma. I just come from Boracay and there is everything really high priced. import foods and stuff? surely expensive like gold, but as everywhere, the market is regulating the price, so it seems to work here :-) hinay-hinay ug calma, Ares, the best way to live here.

 

Perhaps this is the most important thread on DI. We can all compare eating establishments but (apart from food-poisoning due to poor hygiene) there is nothing more important for us all to know than which hospital to choose and which doctors to avoid.

 

Ok, so after much discussion I believe and many phone calls to HO (Philhealth) Manila. Azons' Company Secretary had this to tell us ( I say us, as he has done this for me on our behalf so we can know)
The rules are such, Unified Dependency will not change, that is, those Married and here on a 13a or other such Visa that makes us Permanent Residents ( Operative word is Legally Married) will still be a dependent of our Spouse and enjoy the benefits of the scheme ( as per Law) but where anyone now covered by a Live in Wife will not, However should a Foreigner become a member they can claim for others as Listed on the Policy, Tourists on 9a temporary or otherwise must take out a policy of their own.

I don't see anything "incorrect" about Philpots post, nor are you "incorrect" but perhaps you didn't hear his acceptance of the way things are here, while longing for the people of the Philippines to be a little safer. Stating the truth can never be arrogant. The low cost of things is definitely a blessing.

Would it really raise the price of things to have a light that works, perhaps even working and used turn signals, on the back of motorcycles and tricycles? I've honestly had my only "oh sh*t!" moments in the Philippines due to motorcycles appearing out of the dark like magic. I absolutely do not ever want to run into one. The helmet and sandals perhaps are a choice, as they really only mangle the driver and passengers, but the lights are absolutely necessary.
