The Brexit negotiations under May were not going anywhere - certainly not to the UK's benefit. The electorate (i.e. those who voted) voted for Brexit and so elected the Tories, under a firm Brexiteer, to get it done. I have voted Labour most of my life (with a few periods of forlorn hope in the LibDems) but I recognise they would have either reneged on the Brexit vote or kept us as vassals of the EU. People in the UK are fed up with people legally trying to gain residency being refused, after spending thousands of pounds on Visa (and sometimes legal) fees, but thousands illegally entering and being aided by the State. Boris is no longer important to Brexit but Labour is currently unelectable because people know they will open the gates and send out the rescue boats en masse to assist illegal immigration. With a small country, housing insufficient for the current population, schools having students with a dozen different languages and essential services far less accessible than 50 years ago, people will not vote for any government which fails to introduce and enforce a system whereby the country gets the immigration it needs and through legal channels.

I managed to keep a few, hahaha. Seriously everyone seemed to have the same idea as the local rubbish dump had an hour long queue to get in!!!!
Having a good clear out is good therapy.......try telling my Mrs that!-

Incredibly cold beer! Friendly staff n nice environment.
Wife ordered pulled beef sandwich n I had fish n chips. Hate to say it, but it was the worst "fish-n-chips" I've ever had including frozen TV dinners! Wife's pulled beef was likewise a disappointment! Very sweet n flavorless except for ketchup?
Except for a cold beer, will probably never stop there again!
Bamboo Bob's a few kms further is far superior!-

Great stuff in this thread - one of the worthwhile threads I have read over the years!
As to the kids visiting, each have different experiences. I am from Australia and have 2 kids 31 and 28 years old and whilst their first trip was last Xmas/NYE. I have one returning with his girlfriend in September and both coming with partners to my 60th in Manila in November with the other coming back to Dumaguete/Valencia afterwards with her boyfriend. They both love it here, love my chilled life and all looking to make this a base for further adventures from around here. They can't get enough of it and love it because they get free board and opportunities to explore a truly incredible area filled with natural beauty which is relatively cheap to experience.
It goes without saying but seeing them happy here makes me ecstatic.-

I'm going on my second year in the annulment process. Now the Judge retired and we have to wait for a new Judge to be assigned. 6 month wait is no problem for me. I told my attorney, if this ever becomes law you better be the first one in line to file for me. Yes, it will be an uphill battle. I think the House will support it, but Sens. Sotto, Villar and Lacson will become the "fly in the soup". They are against it. Still as the only country on the planet that doesn't allow divorce maybe they will come to their senses. People unhappy in marriage just leave and find someone else anyway, so why not make it legal.
