We have a 1500 litre storage tank, which is good for 3 - 4 days (3.5 people) and a pressure tank holding about 50 litres. It's the size of the pressure tank which affects the pump cycle time. The system operates at about 40 psi. You will also need a non return valve between the storage tank and the pump and a float switch in the storage tank which will turn the pump off when the water level in the tank is too low.
Noel at Citi Hardware can advise and fit the system. Excellent guy.

Was doing his 'normal' nightly drunken yelling crap but took it outside the couple nights before, the night before starting about 2am he started terrorizing my wife (I am in the US for 10 days), banging on our door, yelling through the bedroom window, blocking our door with his bicycle and sticks of bamboo. She called the landlady who came out about 4:30am with her husband and told him to go inside and quiet down. Was generally quiet after that. Sometime mid morning my wife heard a ruckus and looked to find the landlady in the parking area looking at the guy on the ground. He had climbed the water tank and jumped. Was alive when the ambulance got him.-

Who ever said "life is cheap in the Philippines", and "money can move mountains", must have been confused.
The linked article proves the locals have great imaginations, or sense of humor, or only care about the tourist spending habits. Nothing to worry about. What did Alfred E Newman always say “What me worry?”
“Tourists in Bohol are encouraged to stay and continue their vacations because security forces are addressing the incursion, Col. Edgard Arevalo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs chief, added.”
“At least 4 government forces and five suspected terrorists were killed in the firefight that started at 5 a.m., Tuesday, in Barangay Napo, military officials said.”
However 700 locals do not live in fear, they just move out to evacuation centers. However it is recommended by the Military for the tourist to just stay and continue their vacations… spend their money… lol. “The 700 people in three separate evacuation centers voluntarily evacuated out of fear, Inabanga Mayor Josephine Socorro Jumamoy said.” Now remember it was just voluntary, not fear of death that the locals decided to voluntary evacuated to save their own lives, but tourist... please please have no fear...just continue on and spend you money here... lol. It is good the Tourist spending is being encouraged and appreciated by the government/military now.
PLEASE READ THIS ENCOURAGING MILITARY ADVISORY AGAIN SO YOU DO NOT EVACUATE FROM YOUR TOURIST AGENDA TO SAVE YOUR LIFE.... LOL... remember only 9 have been killed since the fighting started... lol
“Tourists in Bohol are encouraged to stay and continue their vacations because security forces are addressing the incursion, Col. Edgard Arevalo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs chief, added.”
PS: Although Holy Week is usually quite chaotic and busy, there is still plenty of seats available for tourist wanting to go to Bohol currently.

Many people have an entitlement mentality, often taught by our educational system and even cartoons are teaching this. They think they are entitled to the wealth that you have, no matter how small it may be. Words have meaning and when the meaning of words is changed to reflect a different set of ethics for those using those words. For example, Im in the states right now taking care of some business and saw on the news a university protest over something and in the video there was a guy, a student I presumed, that had a sign that read, Quote: Hoarding wealth is murder. Unquote. I began thinking about this sign and its real meaning and the intended meaning from this sign holder. What he is calling hoarding wealth used to be called savings. I recall when I was his age having come back from Vietnam and getting married and saving money to buy our first washing machine. That would be considered hoarding wealth I suppose. To equate that savings is the same as hoarding is absurd but so are many other meanings of words being used today. Then to make the leap that a hoarder/saver is the same as murder? Im sure that in his mind anyone that saves money is a murderer and he is entitled to their money because they are worthy of death, being a murderer.
If this is an example of the values that are being taught today then we are all in trouble. Those that ask for money believe those that are giving the money to be FOOLS and they are simply getting what is theirs that the hoarders/savers have taken from them.
The other problem is that these same people vote and they vote for the candidate that says they will give them the most money and the evil rich people will pay for it.-

Update: He is still at Silliman in the ICU with pneumonia. They don't believe his condition to be terminal at this point. His son is calling and speaking with him twice a day. I'll give more updates as they come in.

It has been too justly observed by Señor Solórzano , that whatever is established with a view to benefit the Indians (philippino's), universally fails of attaining that end; nor is this to be wondered at, as every regulation brought forward with this avowed intention is always so contrived, as to contribute not to the advantage of the oppressed Indian, but solely to that of the person exercising the chief authority.-

Driving in Dumaguete is a learning experience in itself. I consider myself a very good driver since I drive for a living but I was not prepared for the lack of rules when I first came here and started driving a motorcycle. I did find that after a while there was some sort of secret right away granted to bigger moving vehicles
I drove a car for a while too and that is maybe safer but far more challenging in the city. Motorcycles are the quick and easy way around the city but certainly it takes some time to learn the non rules like Ceres Liners are no fun to travel behind

For me it was when I was in the US Army. One of my best friends was a Filipino who was on a student visa and joined the army to gain US Citizenship. He was always talking about the Philippines and I was just like *yah, ok... whatever*. But when we were in Bosnia his father died and he received 2 weeks leave to go home for the wake and funeral. When he came back he kept talking about how he spent 2 weeks partying, tons of girls, bought lots of electronics and 2 computers for his family... and only spent $2k. At that point I said to myself that one day I'm going to check it out and have fun myself. After got out of the service and got disability coming in from the service I ended up having nothing going for myself in the US and sick of how things were going I decide I'd go on a vacation to the Philippines. Having severe anxiety especially on traveling though I knew I couldn't do it alone so I started looking to meet someone online figuring maybe at worst I had some company for my vacation and maybe I could get lucky or real *lucky*. Well I met a woman online and that became my ticket in and I came to see her and the country. Stayed for 21 days and when I got home I said screw it, sold everything and packed up and moved to the Philippines. I thought I hit the jackpot as the girl I met was better then most of my past ex's (not much of a compliment though). Of course at this point she is long gone after getting tired of her crap and thieving ways.
