I'm attaching some pictures of the stereo I put in as well as the LED lighting...the pics aren't the best and not everything was "buttoned" up when the pics were taken.

This trike is very limited on space to put anything so I built a plywood box, skinned with sheet metal on the top, back and sides (not the front or bottom...especially the front as that is where I mounted the amp). Some body filler, canned primer and a metallic blue spray paint.

I went with marine/boat components as well as an amp and powered sub that are used on bikes and vehicles with limited space.

The head unit was installed in the plywood box, not a normal configuration but also went with a wired remote I was able to place in the front, both Kenwood as I like their head units and these are normally used in a boat. The head unit does not have a CD player but very easy to connect Bluetooth or through a USB. Also put in a powered antenna that pulls in quite a few stations, won't get used often but it was cheap.

The speakers are component 5 1/4" Polk Audio speakers, marine grade (splash proof). I've been in love with Polk speakers for a very long time. To find a smaller sized amp to push these speakers all I could find was a Kenwood amp, very pleased with the power in such a small amp. The mid and tweeters are a bit closer than I would normally want (plus in the back) but it was pretty simple to dial in the amp to get great sound out of them.

I also put a powered sub behind the front seat; rated for damp environments and normally placed under a seat in a vehicle. I was also only able to find a Kenwood to meet my needs...not disappointed as it "thumps" much more than I expected for such a physically small sub.

There is no fuse block in the trike like you would find in a car or truck (all in-line fuses and relays) so I installed a fuse block, powered off of the battery through a 30 amp relay; all I needed to do was find an ignition source to power the relay coil. The fuse block powers the LED lights through some switches and some of the stereo components that need an ignition source. For the fused battery power for the amp and sub I used in-line fuses.

Took a bit longer to install things as our son wanted to work this project with me but it was a good bit of fun and he learned a lot, not just my labor because he has small hands to push wires.

I did not go overboard with the LED lighting but I think it looks pretty good. Still need to get the new seats in (I want either blue or gray) and am looking at a new top that is gray as well...things the wife will have to make happen as I'm back to work.

The stereo is loud but great sound as well, the wife has gotten quite a few comments on that...as well as the switches I put in for the LED lighting.

I have lived here over 5 years on a tourist visa, it costs less than 1USD per day, just follow the rules and advice of the Bureau of Immigration. If you plan to stay more than 30 days, visit the Bureau of Immigration office in downtown Dumaguete around your 3 week in town.
Stay in a hotel for your 2 week visit, many to choose from, Go Hotel next to Robinson Mall is inexpensive, easy to navigate to and from, and a lot of places to eat and get coffee nearby.
If you are an experienced motorcycle rider, renting a motorbike works great, many rental places at Santa Rosa and Perdices street in downtown Dumaguete. Wait to buy any cars or bikes. It may not seem like it when you are on the road here, but we drive on the right side in this country.
Explore one hour north (Bais City) to one hour south (Saiton City) ,if you see an area you like, ask the local or neighbors if there are any rentals nearby. There are some online ads for rentals but many only known by word of mouth.
I visited Thailand before and liked it very much. The advantage of the Philippines is the people are very friendly and speak English, the culture is more western than any other Asian country, the cost of living can be low and the quality of life can be high if you make good choices. The are adjustments and annoyances to living here. There are many expats from many countries, many places to socialize, the Filipinos make good friends too.
Remain flexible and have the least amount of commitment (housing, vehicles, business, relationship) in your first year if you decide to stay.
    Good luck.

I have had a break from the forum, due to various circumstances, I really have a good laugh when I see "adult" men whining like small girls, everyone has the right to share their opinion, but also need to accept others have the same right. I don't always agree with Miss Rye's opinion, attitude, or behavior, sometimes I give my opinion on it, other times I don't waste my time and energy on it. Same time he has made a local forum where we can share info and raise our opinion if we feel for it. A lot of good info and some funny people here I like to follow, and thanks to Miss Rye the forum exists. Seems to me to many have very tin skin when it comes to criticisms, come on it's a forum, take the fight or leave the forum, you can, as I have done too, tell what you do not agree with but whining like small girls, when you are an "adult" it suits no one, guess I have seen some of you around in Dumaguete area, or maybe sit next to your table in a restaurant or bar, all I can say, get a life, just my opinion, love free speech. Happy New Year everyone

Instead of all this nonsense about people discrediting the studies, guessing the motivations of others and going on about big pharma conspiracy theories why not just post the link and let the study speak for itself?

Current restrictions would make it quite difficult if not impossible to travel here, as has already been mentioned. If and when you can travel here to research your options, I would concentrate on the places south of Dumaguete (Bacong, Dauin, Zamboanguita), or even the neighbouring small island of Siquijor if being near the beach is an essential priority. Dumaguete doesn't have much of an attractive beach, further south it's better, Siquijor has some really nice beaches, and the ferry to Dumaguete takes only an hour for the occasional shopping trip.

    Pat,
Your body might be damaged but your warrior spirit remains untouched. You may fall but arise to continue the unrelenting fight, unyielding determination, uncompromising in your purpose. If I had half your fighter's mind and unconquerable heart I would be twice the man I am today. Fight on Patrick. You inspire us all.

This "lack of common sense" is a common trait across many Asian countries. It's certainly not exclusive to The Philippines.
I have encountered the same problems living, working, and running a business in China and Cambodia.
One must understand though, that a lot of it comes down to their education. In Western countries we are taught to question things, use our imagination, have our own point of view, and "think outside the box". In Asian countries they are taught to copy and remember what they are told and then regurgitate it come exam time. Try asking a typical Chinese teenager to use their imagination and you'll understand what I mean.
There's no point in letting it get to you or trying to change the system, it ain't gonna work. Just pick the bloody olives or mushrooms off the pizza when it arrives if that's what it takes.

Having said that, I've met a huge number of expats who are also pretty bloody stupid too
