Hi All
If anyone has any issues with bees and want them collected from your place, feel free to PM me and we will do our best to come and get them out for you, no charge.
Please do not kill them, the world bee population is declining rapidly due to poisons, we will give them a good home ..
Something a little unique that you might encounter is a very small bee .. these are usually stingless and will not hurt you at all, and if they are not destroying anything, you can leave them alone and watch their activities, their honey is absolutely delicious , if you have a hive and decide to keep it, I will point you to some material on line that will help you ..
If anyone wants any help or advice on Bees and Bee removal, please free free to PM me here or drop an email to pangitpilot@gmail.com. Photos of the location, and a closeup of the bee in question will help a lot, especially if we have to travel a long way ..
Cheers

by Executive Optical in the Mall. Seems that they have thrown bare rabbit in the brier bush. d*mn that is SOOOO painful. It started on 11/02/17. I went to them to replace my 19 year old proscription glasses. Got the exam and told them to order. After I paid they gave me a sales invoice # 0329 showing that I paid the full amount, signed by the manager and me. In doing so said sales invoice # 0329 became a legal and binding contract. The glasses would be ready for pick-up on or before 11/10/17. On 11/09/17 I stopped in and they told me that they had NOT ORDERED my glasses! They said that they will not order them until I paid an additional 1500.oo. showed then THEIR contract dated and signed on 11/02/17 clearly marked "PAID IN FULL". Now I assure you that 1500 would have made no difference in my monthly budget, or my dissection to get these badly needed proscription glasses. I did take offense to their "breach of their own contract". I took it to "DTI" and through DTI we settled our differences. I assumed that it was over, I should have known better, knowing that they are willing to breach their own contract. Wife was talking to one of their employees last week and she was told that Executive Optical had black listed me and that I was never to inter their business again. When I received that news I almost broke down and cried.
Imagine that, bare fox done threw bare rabbit in the brier bush.
Tomorrow I will pick-up my new proscription glasses from a honest retailer. Nothing like getting black listed from a retailer that breaches their own contracts. Buyer beware!-

The grandson asked his grandfather what he thought about the shootings at schools, the computer age, and just things in general..
The Grandfather replied, "Well, let me think a minute, I was born before:
' television
' penicillin
' polio shots
' frozen foods
' Xerox
' contact lenses
' Frisbees and
' the pill
There were no:
' credit cards
' laser beams or
' ball-point pens
Man had not invented :
' pantyhose
' air conditioners
' dishwashers
' clothes dryers
' and the clothes were hung out to dry in the fresh air and space travel was only in Flash Gordon books.
Your Grandmother and I got married first,.. and then lived together..
Every family had a father and a mother. Until I was 25, I called every woman older than me, "mam". And after I turned 25, I still called
policemen and every man with a title, "Sir."
We were before gay-rights, computer-dating, dual careers, daycare centers, and group therapy.
Our lives were governed by the Bible, good judgment, and common sense. We were taught to know the difference between right and wrong and to stand up and take responsibility for our actions.
Serving your country was a privilege; living in this country was a bigger
privilege... We thought fast food was eating half a biscuit while running to catch the school bus.
Having a meaningful relationship meant getting along with your cousins.
Draft dodgers were those who closed front doors as the evening breeze started.
Time-sharing meant time the family spent together in the evenings and weekends-not purchasing condominiums.
We never heard of FM radios, tape decks, CDs, electric typewriters, yogurt, or guys wearing earrings.
We listened to Big Bands, Jack Benny, and the President's speeches on our radios. And I don't ever remember any kid blowing his brains out listening to Tommy Dorsey.
If you saw anything with 'Made in Japan' on it, it was junk.
The term 'making out' referred to how you did on your school exam....
Pizza Hut, McDonald's, and instant coffee were unheard of.
We had 5 &10-cent stores where you could actually buy things for 5 and 10 cents. Ice-cream cones, phone calls, rides on a streetcar, and a Pepsi were all a nickel. And if you didn't want to splurge, you could spend your nickel on enough stamps to mail 1 letter and 2 postcards.
You could buy a new Ford Coupe for $600,... but who could afford one? Too bad, because gas was 11 cents a gallon.
In my day:
' "grass" was mowed,
' "coke" was a cold drink,
' "pot" was something your mother cooked in and "rock music" was your grandmother's lullaby. "Aids" were helpers in the Principal's office, ' "chip" meant a piece of wood, "hardware" was found in a hardware store and
' "software" wasn't even a word.
And we were the last generation to actually believe that a lady needed a husband to have a baby.
No wonder people call us "old and confused" and say there is a generation gap.
How old do you think I am?
I bet you have this old man in mind....you are in for a shock!
Read on to see -- pretty scary if you think about it and pretty sad at the same time .
Are you ready ?????
This Man Would Be Only 70 Years Old Today.
... PASS THIS ON TO THE OLD ONES, THE YOUNG ONES WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT.

A couple of weeks back was riding the bike up some of the mountain roads above dauin and saw a couple of new signs for a waterfall so this week decided to visit and look around.
Easy to find as the turning is right on dauin market toward that upland resort, just keep following the road until you see the sign for the falls on the right.
It says 1km,hmmm not quite and all uphill, then you eventually will see another sign and thats where Nelson lives and he will guide you to the falls.
The path then drops into a small gorge with is steep so good footwear needed down to the river,we then walked up the river up into a pretty big gorge again and at the end is the falls and a couple of nice pools to relax in.
The water is quite warm as it comes from baslay hot springs further up the hill.
Its not developed at all as of yet but was very nice to see the place, bit of a killer going back up the hill to the top. Suggessted nelson he get a cooler with water and soft drinks to sell as im sure he would make a killing.Attached Files:

- Thread: Death Machines on Wheels
Sound and look familiar? Note that it took decades before US cities were able to successfully deal with these new transportation contraptions.
Fun fact: Calling someone a "jay" in the early 1900's would be like calling someone a hick, redneck or country bumpkin today. So calling someone a "jaywalker" would have been incredibly insulting to city folk. Also, playgrounds were invented because children were getting ran over in the city streets so frequently...because that is where they had always played before...and these cars, that in the 1920s were the cause of 2/3rd of all deaths in NYC, were not enough for hard-headed parents to warn their kids to stay out of the streets.-

A smartphone app that I kind of learned about late in my stay in the Philippines probably would have saved me a whole lot more money if I would have known about it sooner. I'm glad I used it when I did though because it still saved me quite a bit in fare going back to NAIA homeward. I was at Wanderers Guest house in Malate, because we were on a tight budget, very tight, because of a problem with my bank not liking my purchases in the Philippines even though I had notified them of my trip ahead of time. (OT, and another story) The night we came to Wanderers from NAIA, a taxi driver picked us out of a line of people at the airport and offered to drive us to our hotel. Jhing was negotiating with the driver and the driver's wife was with them. She asked how much to go to Malate, and he first said 450 php, and after we got in the car, he told her 550 php. She looked at me. I had no idea what to expect what the rate would be, because I didn't know how far it was. So, we paid 550 from NAIA to the Guesthouse. Seemed like it took quite a while too.
On the day I was to go back to NAIA, we were worried about our money situation, as we were extremely limited on cash by that point and 550 php again was going to be a big stretch, so I started looking for cheaper options including jeepneys, which, with a 50lb. suitcase was going to be interesting across 3 jeepney rides. So, I asked the hotel desk what my cheapest options were for getting to the airport. He said to get a taxi, preferably a yellow one and have them run the meter. He said there is also an app called Grab that you can DL on google play that's like UBER, but he liked it better than UBER. It tells what to expect it to cost based on what the available drivers nearby are willing to accept. Some were as low as 139-160 pesos. I found a yellow cab nearby that quoted 160-250 pesos and I chose that one. Within a few minutes, our cab was there, and for less than half what we paid to get from the airport before, we were able to get there with change to spare for her ride home. I don't know how well the app works in Dumaguete, but in Manila, I think it will be my go-to from now on. Just in case anyone else may need to know. I really didn't know what to expect fare wise on anything, and apparently, since my fiance doesn't use the taxis that much, she didn't either. Hope this helps someone else though.-

Had a 6am Saturday 8 April flight from NAIA Terminal 1, did not open check in until 3am and people started queuing at 2:15. I waited slightly more comfortable in a chair until 4:30 and stood in line for 10 minutes to check my bag. Several immigration lanes were open, was 4th in line so took about 5 minutes.
Return flight arrived NAIA Terminal 1 at 12:30am Thursday 20 April, made it to immigration and was about 5th in line. Would have been less than 5 minutes this time but I asked for 59 day Tourist Visa as I was handing over my passport. 15 minutes later I had a 59 day Visa, cost just under p3,000, immigration queue was empty by then, walked over to the carousel and quickly found my luggage as there was only 6 or so other pieces besides mine.
Leaving and returning through NAIA Terminal 1 I found no issues at all with immigration. Only real irritation was waiting for the airline to open check in to check my bag and the resulting herd of passengers swarming the queue (didn't mention airline as they were all doing the same thing).
Onward ticket to Hong Kong in 54 days was again purchased on Expedia at my return flight originating airport (in this case Saint Louis, Missouri) before checking in. A couple hours later, layover in Chicago, Illinois), I canceled the ticket (taking advantage of Expedia's free cancellation within 24 hours policy) after clearing 'docs check' at the gate for the Beijing portion of my trip. In Manila immigration only asked me about my departure date because I asked for a 59 day Visa. Apparently I answered '54 days' fast enough they didn't even verify by asking to see the ticket (I would have showed the booked email, not the cancellation email of course).-
