Err, no. IATF, like every government agency on the planet that is tasked to advise/decide on measures to contain the epidemic is struggling to find a balance between
a. keeping the spread of covid-19 down enough to avoid overwhelming available hospital beds and collapse of medical services.
b. tailoring measures to keep the spread further down among the most vulnerable groups (older people) and among the group that's most likely to get infected and spread it to family members (children)
c. pressure from those suffering economic hardship

Does that mean they get it right all of the time and don't make mistakes? No of course not.
But calling them "crazy", thus inciting people to disregard whatever restrictions they impose, is totally irresponsible.
As far as I know the lack of proper PPE for hospital staff has still not been resolved in this country. People who wish to disregard restrictions are basically saying it's fine if more nurses and doctors die because of their actions.

People in this country should realise that
a. medical facilities here are a long way from being comparable to developed nations (hospital beds in Germany per capita are 6x what they are here, ICU beds are 10x what the Philippines has)
b. access to medical care for many in this country simply doesn't exist.
c. the virus doesn't care about any of that.

Moreover, as bad as Covid-19 already is here, the Philippines has still been relatively successful so far, in most developed nations there are between 3 and 8 times as many cases per capita as here.
And yes, if only because of its fragile healthcare system, this country should try really hard to keep cases down.
In my view, if anything, the measures to control the spread of Covid-19 are not strict enough, rather than too strict already.

 

The Wuhan Institute of Virology lab is located just 20km from the fish market that is the claimed source of the virus. The first 14 reported cases had no contact with the fish market. For the past year the WIV has been using CRISPR technology to modify the corona virus in bats. They actually published several papers on their work. Analysis of the RNA of this new virus shows that it is a bat originated virus, and has a new gene element in the RNA structure that effects the proteins of the spikes on the virus making it extra virulent. The lab that did this analysis says this is not a genetic anomaly that could have happened by spontaneous mutation. The new gene element discovered in the virus is nearly identical to a gene from the HIV virus. A cocktail of HIV medications has so far been found to be the most promising treatment.

Okay, who knows, maybe all of that stuff is just coincidental.

Not just that, the risk of getting infected at such a government facility seems a large multiple of what you'd be up against in a hotel.

 

People's attitudes change over time, get more relaxed, no corona 19 here, or we don't see or know anyone who is infected. Cancel fiesta in Bacong haha, try to tell people don't make kids anymore, would be the same. I see the kagawad go to the beach and try to enforce the rules, the reaction is people laugh or get angry at him, then yesterday the police show up, no one laugh or get angry. I use my common sense and take it seriously when I'm at public places, but I also get more relaxed, I don't know if we can go swimming or fishing, but I think so because no one stops me and I feel very safe when I'm alone at the sea or together with friends I meet as we did before corona 19 but again, I use mask always bring alcohol when I'm around, sometimes even more than one kind of it

 

People have started buying their own swab test kits so they can monitor their households. They don’t want to get the DOH nor the LGU involved because if they turn out to be positive, they don’t want to be taken away to some dodgy quarantine facility or spend a lot of money doing their quarantine at some accredited hotel when most are just asymptomatic and they can just quarantine at home and isolate themselves in one room. So they buy these antigen kits to see if they’re reactive. If they are and exhibiting symptoms, that’s when they inform the LGU and they get swabbed with the RT PCR to validate their antigen results.

I’m not selling the kits, but if any of you need them, a shop is selling them on Facebook. Yana Dumaguete. I recommend the brand Abbott for the nasal antigen. It’s the most accurate out of them all.

 

Taiwan has done very well by accounts I have read.

Everyone washed their hands frequently.

Apparently they did not shutdown their economy.

Yes indeed. This information is something to ingest and use to weigh your risk factors for sure. As to "why take the risk" that's up to each person's determination. Everyone should do what they can to mitigate the risks they take, in their interest and in the interest of their loved ones.
