Wow, I feel sorry for his wife. Dealing with that level of alcoholism has to be rough on her and the family.

Filet mignon at Cafe racer? I tried this once and it is "you get what you pay for" but far from good. For good steak I go to Flip-flops or Casablanca (which is a great option for other dishes as well).

Or to quote that famous Chinese proverb: 'When man hunts fish, sometimes it is the fish that hooks the man'.-

- Thread: THUNDER ROAD BAR AND GRILL
Well I went into this place for breakfast last week , ordered a ham and cheese omelet ,
It arrived pretty quickly and as I was halfway through eating it i was getting a terrible revolting taste ,
I smelt the thing and realised the ham was rotten !!
I then spent the next 5 minitues in the toilet vomiting !!!
Using rotten ham in a omlet will not be getting me to ever return to this place , suggest the owner checks his stock of food, lucky I was sick immideatly as I could of had food poisoning from eating that if it had stayed in my stomach
Get your act together thunder road-

- Thread: Favorite Take Out Dishes
When my wife is out of town for a soccer match, I have two restaurants I phone order for take outs.
One is Big Billy's Beach Cafe in Bacong. I like their lasagna and chicken cordon bleu, I like the burgers if I dine in. They are right next to the sea, go east at St. Peters from south highway.
Two is Taverna on south highway Dumaguete. I enjoy their chili con carne, pizza (thin crust, best sauce), and schnitzel (choice chicken or pork and either a great pepper or mushroom and onion sauce), and their fish fillet.
Both restaurants have good menus.-

We went to Mifume (Santa Catalina St., Dumaguete) for the first time in many many years. Still great food, expensive but you get what you pay for.

- Thread: Good Pizza on Dauin Beach
Frontemere Pizza, wood oven. About 1 km north of Dauin market across from Lokal Restaurant, turn at Frontemere sign toward beach on paved road all the way to the beach, turns into dirt road, stay toward the left, road ends at restaurant. My son and I shared a half Margherita half pepperoni pizza p440, 3 juices 1 coke p200. menu just pizza, calzones, pasta, I think they serve beer and drinks. We liked it maybe better than other pizzas here. Bamboo Bob's closed.

Popped into Sideways Sports Bar today and had the English Breafast. It was pretty good. Consisted of a large sausage (where I come from it was a kabana) that was tasty, bacon (much to overcooked and crispy for my aussie tastes, next time I will ask them to half cook it), poached eggs (cooked perfectly), baked beans, toast, butter and jam. Breakfast comes with coffee or orange juice. Coffee was pretty terrible, next time I will go with OJ.
Place itself was great, staff were efficient (very pleasant surprise) and the owner was there and was friendly and we chatted. Seems to be a fairly popular expat place showing a lot of sports. I am told it has a tuesday quiz night which is popular and live band fridays as well as some expat singers a few other nights.
For those that like a sports bar, this place would be perfect with lots of tvs.-
