McDonalds- softserv vanilla, strawberry and chocolate 12 oz shakes are available on the GRAB app for Dumaguete and suburbs. If they arrive soft pop them in the freezer. To double the portion, refill the cup after dumping into the blender with 12 oz. of Fresh Milk and blend.

I've been after the local management for 14 years to bring shakes to the Philippines.

Also on the Grab app is the place for instructions such as extra pickles and extra onions on your hamburger.

Grab and FoodPanda are going head to head but missing items and debit card payments are also collected in cash by the riders by unsuspecting customers have led us to use Grab more and more.

    Current favorites are:

    Mooone:
    Ribeye and or Tenderloin steaks.
    Thin-sliced onion rings.
    Potato soup.

    Lantau
    Lomi soup, best local flavor.
    Watermelon shakes.

    Flamin Grill:
    Crunchy French fried onion rings.

    Chia:
    Omelet
    Buritto

Now I'm sure many of us (myself included) and running rather low on the alcohol front so I thought I'd share this brilliant website with you.

    https://makemeacocktail.com/

All you need to do is click on all the ingredients you have in your home. Spirits, mixers, but also other stuff like salt, tabasco, coffee, sugar, marmalade, milk, chocolate etc. And then.....Hey Presto.......you get a list and instructions of all the wonderful tasty beverages you can make with those ingredients!

There is so much one can do with Tanduay.......

    Enjoy!

Has anybody else tried the new Korean restaurant on the blvd yet called Kimstaurant? I was happy to see this place open as I love Korean food. Going inside it is nice and spacious and modern looking, so I had high hopes. We found the menu to be a bit pricey with most of the main menu items being in the 400 to 700 peso range. Anyway, we ordered four dishes for the two of us to get a good sampling of their food. It was a major disappointment for me, even though I was very hungry I couldn't eat more than just a few bites from each dish. We decided to just leave shortly after the food arrived. They asked if we would like it packed for take out and we just said no thanks, paid our 1400 peso bill, and left and walked down to Casablanca for one of their giant burgers for 275 pesos which we split and filled us both up. We go to the Soban Korean food restaurant by City Mall all the time, and love just about everything on their menu, and I was happy when I saw Kimstaurant open ... but, it was very disappointing.

This place had their grand opening last week their claim to fame is going to be Micro beer and good food, from my experience yesterday the claim to fame went down the drain. Myself and 8 friends went to check the place out, only 1 brew available and we were notified after one hour that there was no more beer and the next batch would not be ready until August 28 so no beer for 1 week and the local san mig beer they don't stock. Six meals were sampled and all of them got negative reviews. We all know the phrase.'' There is no second chance to make a first good impression'' This is certainly applicable to our visit yesterday.

Hawaiian Toast. A huge tasty serving (I cuoldn’t Finish it). English muffins topped with good ham, pineapple, cheese, and two eggs. Next time I will ask to toast the muffins a little to make it easier to cut. 230p includes juice and coffee and bread butter jam. Waitress has been there 7 years and provides great service.

Went to lunch at Tres Bistro yesterday with the wife. It is located on Hibbard. If you are going north it is on the left just a way before Sophias Wine Store and almost across the street from Pamela Pension House. Hours are 10:30 - 2:30 and then 4:30 - 10:30.

Service was prompt. Menu is varying as with the drinks and wine offered by the glass or bottle, also has mixed drinks, beer and whiskey to chose from.

Wife had the crab cakes and loved them. I had the butter battered chicken. We shared a plate of potato wedges with bacon bits and cheese sauce. Food was well prepared, hot and very tasty. I had a glass of wine, she had mango juice. Total bill, just a little over 800p.

Asked the wife if this was a place she would like to return to and she stated emphatically yes. I had to agree with her, and will try other selections on the menu next visit.

The cloudy skies over the last several days have dampened my stargazing enthusiasm (but not my drinking). The clouds however produce some incredible sunrises and sunsets, some of which I wish to share.
The sunrises over the ocean from Dumaguete are some of the best I've seen. But I never seem to have my camera handy. If anyone has some cool images of the sunrise from the Boulevard, please add them to this forum.

IMG_7225.JPG Well all I can say is fantastic!
Went in late afternoon and ordered fish and chips, out came a feast at 195 pesos , lovely bartered dorado fish in huge chunks along with very large perfectly cooked chips , it was a struggle to finish the meal as so large,
Kudos to This place I am more then impressed with the price , service and quality of food .
Had a full meal, ice cream dessert , and 3 or 4 beers , sat for around 2 hours watching the world go by at a cost of 390 odd pesos!
    Great job why not
