Visited there today, yes lovely spot. Met owner whom was very friendly and very accommodating. Nice guy, the place is organized and super friendly staff.
Unfortunately we had already eaten but enjoyed a nice drink, no entrance fee was charged. Apparently there are ex pats around whom think they can just hang out there for free, use the wi fi and facilities without paying....I fully understand why management charge a fee.
We organized a return to spend the whole afternoon swimming eating, it's really a little oasis.

Jack Peterson..No Chia's is not mine although close enough to my Dumaguete Info name to bring it into question. Chi Town represents the Windy City of Chicago. Start a business in the Phils? Too old, tired, retired and a pure carnivore to open a veggie restaurant.

- Thread: Top Restaurants
Watching this thread. I lived over 30 years in San Francisco and knew every little obscure place that had great food ... melt-in-your-mouth truffle oil steak, or soltani shish kebob to die for, or scampi so good you had to lick the plate. I fully admit to having become a very annoying food snob, when I go out to eat with friends everybody will be ranting about how great the food is, and I will be like are you kidding me. Years ago Pasta King used to make a spaghetti con polpeti that I considered to be really good, with the new ownership the quality is not even close. I've tried just about every place in Dumaguete, "that wasn't too terrible" is about the best I could ever say. I would probably say that good quality restaurants is the thing I miss the most living here.

If you don't want want any chance of your business getting a negative review then don't advertise it in a place that allows comments or reviews.-

I've been twice, it's okay, once on a medical mission & once on bike tour, not bad. The pier/boulevard has a beautiful view of Basilan, cafe's/calanderias had certainly way more BBQ pork & cold beer than I expected. People are nice, at least at face value, never needed to find anything important (like bike parts etc). Ipil is not so welcoming, an Australian was kidnapped there a few years ago, but could have been his fault. Cotabato, likewise not so nice but survivable, I worked there a couple of times.

- Thread: Why Not - No Mask
Lets be honest here, you seriously think a 25 peso mask is going to save you, DREAM ON, when I go out yes I wear a mask, but not because it will save me, but because of the solidarity of wearing it, its purely psychological, anything else is pure codswallop
