too many fast food/junk food establishments in this town in my opinion.

Where can you get a good decent healthy meal? Apart from Casa Blanca.

Good idea. He may be having a reaction to the alcohol (diabetic perhaps) or he may have eaten something besides alcohol that made him sick or he may just need a blood transfusion to replace the alcohol in his arteries with real blood. :-)

I have never had a bad experience with the steaks in Moon Cafe but i have went to other places paid 3 or 4 times more and ended up taking it home for the dogs.

My sis-in-law went (lunchtime) and was pleased - but there was no chicken curry. Lunchtimes is 11.30 am to 2.30 pm and is 399 pesos - dinner is 5.00 pm to 9.30 pm (not 100% sure so check if you are going) and is 499 pesos (I assume they provide more choices.

But she noticed that food item started to get cold and run-out but were not replaced - so going early is advisable.

There is a fine of 100 pesos for every 150 grams of uneaten food - but that makes sense. (I don't think there is scope to intentionally pay that fine and walk out with some food, when it would be about 667 pesos per kg).

The cooking method was fine but she noticed some large groups piling food on the hot-plate and then picking bits off - this is actually a serious health risk due to cross contamination of cooked food with uncooked food but obviously members here are aware of that.

Ice creams and cupcakes (and a few other desserts) plus drinks (bottled coke, orange, pineapple and drinks from a dispenser) were unlimited. Service was very good.

She is going back soon for dinner to see the differences.

    Definitely seems worth trying.

Well, from my vantage the clouds spoiled the fun. I did get some fleeting glimpses of the totally eclipsed Moon. Was not able to get any telescopic views, but I did manage at least one image.
Of all the Lunar eclipses I've seen, this was the brightest and reddest! Too bad it was playing hide-and-seek. mars and eclipse.jpg

Yup, and I really enjoyed it. I went with a few friends for dinner and we all loved our meals. I had the steak frites and it was cooked perfectly. The fries were also delicious. My friends had the salmon and the pasta and they both said their meals were excellent.

I also really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's very casual and relaxed, but it's still nice enough to go for a special occasion. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive.

It's a great place to go for a delicious meal and a fun time.

    Cheers,
    Virgilius

We went there tonight and experienced the same. I got the double cheese. It had two of the biggest all beef patties I have experienced in the PI. Once I took a bite I knew I was in for a treat. The paddies to together was about one inch thick and over hung the bun all the way around. Ton's is located right next door to OZ Racing, just past Phenix Gas station and before the Shell Station.:cat:  :hungry:
    Thanks for the tip, Rye83!

Grumpy's is being developed by Ralph and Aurora, who used to have la Fiesta in San Miguel. Expected to open in December.
