After casting about for something new in the Dumaguete dining scene I recently discovered Yakiniku Hakusan Japanese Beef BBQ. I've driven by it dozens of times without noticing it as it's on the second floor of a building fronting the south side of Quezon Park, very near the old stone watchtower. Owner is from Osaka and serves excellent yakiniku, along with decent sushi and possibly the best ramen I've found. Prices are reasonable and service is good but the food is the reason to go. Wish I had found it earlier.

- Thread: Roti Boss, Indian food

Roti Boss is a fan only hole-in-the-wall stall serving good Muslim Indian food from a limited menu. We tried it for lunch. Good Naan and Roti breads with spicy dips and your normal curry dishes. Cheap prices. The location sucks however and you get a good dose of "Eau de Dumaguete" while eating from the sewer grates out front. Recommended as it's the only Indian made food in town. Caddycorner from the South east corner of city plaza park near the watchtower. Or 1 block south from the post office on same side. If only he would open a bigger place downtown and a cart in Valencia!

- Thread: For a better Moon chicken fajita
I finally figured out what's been wrong with my Moon fajita experience. While the first fajita wrap on the 3 per order was tasty enough, my happiness went down hill as I'd eat the next two.
I recently realized the fancy hot sizzling cast iron platter they are served on is over-cooking the chicken and veggies as they sit in front of you. Which yields tough meat and reduced sauce that's too thick and bleh after the minutes tic by.
So about a month ago I had them serve it on a regular plate, with the sauce on the side and TA-DAH-instant satisfaction throughout the entire meal!
A huge improvement.

- Thread: Pacos Tacos Valencia
Merely a stand with a cook and a stove serving delicious Mexican style food. Recommendation - spicy chili verde burrito add as much jalapeño sauce to fit your taste. Simple bean and cheese burrito and tacos are popular as well. For my San Diego taste, nothing here comes close to Tommy's place. Btw, no bouncers or obnoxious dudes.

- Thread: Jalapeño Burger
Had a very tasty and spicy burger with jalapeños, jalapeño cheese, pickles, onions, catsup at Mike's Dauin Beach Resort, and a favorite beverage. Recommended if you can take it.
