Cebu - Founder and CEO of "Home for Girls - Sunny Life e.V." was arrested on Tuesday, January 16, in Frankfurt, Germany, for child sexual abuse. - klajoo.com - The 52-year-old father of a child lived for several years as the "Sunny Delgado" in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental Province, before moving to Cebu in 2017 to found an organization to help street children in the Philippines. At the end of the year, Sunny returned to his hometown of Frankfurt am Main to do business. In February, Sunny, who wanted to be photographed with little Filipino girls, wanted to return to the Philippines. According to the Attorney General Frankfurt, Sunny has made an appointment to pay for the serious sexual abuse of children in the Philippines, through a messenger service. According to the prosecutor's office, the man had it, aimed at nine to twelve-year-old girls. The decisive clue was provided by the FBI, the US authority had encountered in their investigations on the Germans and had passed their information to the Federal Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden. While searching his home, his computers and numerous data carriers were secured. The prosecutor says he e-mailed more than 1,900 child pornography and video files depicting the most serious forms of child sexual abuse. The website of Sunny was taken off the web, while in Facebook the group "Home for Girls - Sunny Life e.V.", at the time of publication of this article was still online.

Yesterday Robinsons department store lost a sale (shock horror) how can this be you may ask, the story is that when i found something i wanted to buy the serving girl took me to the cash register queue of around 10 people and when i asked if there was another cash register in use she said no, i told her ok i will just come back later (which really meant i am off and will probably never buy that now)
I would like to suggest that Robinsons take some of the multitude of servers who stand beside you when looking at stuff and say socks sir when you are looking at socks or t shirt sir if you are looking at t shirts and train them up to take money at cash registers.
I have never run a business so maybe my suggestion is way out of line but i think like most businesses here unless Mr Robinson is actually there the servers don't care if they sell things or not because their crappy salary is the same whatever the outcome.
Every cloud has a silver lining though as i did not waste money on something i could obviously live without-

- Thread: PNP checkpoint (joke)
Yesterday evening around 6pm there was a checkpoint on the south highway between Bacong and Dumaguete, they call it a checkpoint but it really was only a place where all the illegal motorbikes parked before it (north & south) and partially blocked the road.
I have no police training but i could deduce the reason they did not want to go through was that the the bike was somehow illegal, the PNP did not appear to have seen this or the traffic chaos it was causing as they did not walk the few meters it would have taken to arrest or move on these people.
Why do they bother, next time just stay in the police station and stop f$%king up the traffic for no good reason.-

- Thread: DI Meet 'n Greet
Putting on a DI get-together next week on Wednesday from 2-5pm. First dibs goes to Gerry's on the Beach (a forum sponsor). First round of beer will be on the house, pizza will be buy one get the second half price.
I would like this to become a regular event (either once a month or every other month). We can alternate the locations from north/south/downtown Dumaguete so that people can make it to these get-togethers in the future to accommodate as many people as possible.
Comments/suggestions welcome for future events.-

- Thread: Lack of Locals Road Rage
As a daily passenger (unable to drive) I have noticed there is little, if any, road range among the locals, hit and run accidents notwithstanding. In fact the last incident I recall was about 18 months ago while on my bike I fired off an f-bomb at a pedicab driver and received the same in return plus a few. So I guess they amazingly accept the craziness and unexpected events and let it go. I guess some of us need to chill.

On 09-15at 15:06 Holy Child Hospital confirmed that I have Dengue. All their rooms were unavailable so we went to Silliman Medical Center for treatment. Following their advice I drank over 4 Liters of “Gatorade” every 24 hours until 09-16 about 21:00. Seeing no improvement in my blood Platelet Count I researched the internet for other treatments. This and a conversation with a local lady convinced me that I should try the Papaya treatment.HOW I CURED MYSELF OF DENGUE IN 30 HOURS
The local lady told me that Dengue had been prevelant in the Philippines for centuries, and until the modern Medicos started treatment very few people died from it. For generations all the people knew that if you picked the young top leaves of a Papaya plant, washed and deveined them then pound the pulp to a liquid and drank about an ounce of this 2 or 3 times a day the Dengue would go away in a day or two.
After watching my Blood Platelet Count steadily go down, for 3 days it was time to start self medicating. I followed the above treatment for about 36 hours and went back to have my platelet count taken. Everyone was amazed at my “miraculous” recovery and wanted to know how it came about. The nurses only smiled at each other when I told them, as they obviously already knew of this treatment. I was very confidentially told by another health care worker that they knew of this but were instructed not to mention this or any other local treatments for not only Dengue but several other maladies. It seems that the money hospitals make from lab tests and room charges outweigh the benefits to educating the local populations of inexpensive and effective treatments.

All conventional knowledge says that there is no known cure for Dengue, so the hospitals refusal to inform people of this alternative treatment can’t be to sell patent medicine. So, what else could their actions be based on but their own greed? This is not only th Philippine situation but seems to be the practice around the world.
