Hopefully they remove any law that restricts foreigners to only owning a percentage. If I invest 100% I should own 100%. Anything less and I'm not interested.

More energy won't hurt anything. I think the big problem is not the companies generating power but more with the family/company that distributes the power.

Gore pictures will not be posted in this forum, this is rubbernecking in its worst form. If Team HUKAD wants to lower themselves to being a gore page then that's on them. Respect for the deceased will be shown here. This man could be a father, husband or brother to someone. I wouldn't want pictures of my loved one's dead body posted all over the internet and I certainly wouldn't want my kids (if I had any) to see pictures of my lifeless body laid out on the highway. I will let the post and link stand in case people want information on the wreck but I am editing out the picture.

That being said, appears that the man was not wearing a helmet. It is quite possible that his life could have been saved if he had been wearing one. Use your head people. Helmets save lives. I'm not one having the government force people to be safe, if someone isn't smart enough to take care of their own body then we should let Darwinism do its thing. Best wishes to this man's family. It's a shame that his death could have been prevented.

Am watching CNN and they lead off with a telephone call with Gen Galvez, the Head of the Corona Response Team for the Country. Then they show the film footage of him visiting areas and talking with dignitaries along with some of his staff I guess.

Now for the good part. He is shaking everyone's hand, then hugs them and does the cheek to cheek greeting. No social distancing and everyone with him is doing the same thing.

As I say, in the Philippines, you have to see it to believe it.

It seems like the coast guard are being very catious of this incoming typhoon around north luzon. Earlier there was a post that all ferries are cancelled from cebu and bohol and now maayo shipping have said they will suspend all ferry trips from lunchtime thursday.
Sounds a bit over the top as remember when that typhoon hit layte we got nothing here.

    Hey, I'm not saying it:

What are the odds the guy was involved in an accident recently? I think he might be ranting a bit.

I personally wouldn't call them "stupid"...maybe "ignorant" of the law.

    Sotto also asks:
Hmm, and who is responsible for making sure the law is implemented and the LTO is properly funded, Mr. Senator? Oh right, you are. Maybe if this guy didn't suck so much at his job and wasn't so incompetent the drivers would be getting better driver's education.

I wonder if this guy realizes that many of those "stupid drivers" are what's keeping him in office. If they were a bit more educated there is a very good chance he wouldn't be holding office. I think he should show a little more appreciation for the uneducated folks that keep him in a position of power.

Air and artillery, along with troops from Joint Task Group Basilan, are now pounding an Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) enclave at Punoh Amirul in Barangay Baguindan, Tipo-Tipo, Basilan.

The military offensive started on Sunday, Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) spokesperson Major Filemon Tan said.

A series of airstrikes and artillery fires were delivered by military troops, targeting more or less 150 ASG members under Furuji Indama and Isnilon Hapilon.

No casualties was reported on the government side as of this press time while the number of killed and wounded in the bandit side is still to be determined.

Since Sunday, troops of the 18th Infantry Battalion situated in Barangay Magcawa, Albarka have been engaging in a series of armed confrontation with the group of Indama, while being backed by 3rd Air Division personnel.

Focused military operations are currently being intensified in all efforts of the military to neutralize the ASG based in the province of Basilan.

In Sulu, troops continue to operate in an area where kidnap victim Kjartan Sekkingstand is known to be located.

“As to the report that the kidnap victim will be beheaded anytime, we cannot confirm or deny that. The troops of the Joint Task Force Sulu continue to conduct focused military operations
