Let's not take away the glory for this Lady.
To be the first Filipino to ever win a gold medal, I hope she dines out on her achievement for many years to come! ( just like others elsewhere )

 

They will but won't understand it and then say the writers are anti filipino and should go home.

 

For me it's........Faith, Hope, Charity.
Give the children a world without war
Comfort of a home and the security of a family
Wipe away their tears with a cloth of compassion
Feed them when they hunger, water when they thirst
Educate them with wisdom, fairness and truth
Give them a purpose in life, to fulfil their dreams
Turn their hope into wishes and wishes into reality
They deserve a better future.

That is the hallmark of we expats... the World is full of people our age that grew up and grew old and eat out at at 5pm for the senior citizen special. Those of us who defied age struck out searching for a second youth.... hats off to my fellow expats who saw age as just a number .... Huzzah !!

 

I don’t think think that most people make it a first condition that the woman they marry be a Filipina. You just find the woman and learn where she comes from, at least for me, 35 years ago. I had never been here and couldn’t differentiate Asian nationalities very well. Also, I met her in the USA, kept working there for 33 more years after getting married, had 2 kids, put them through college in the US, retired and moved here as I had promised early on in the marriage. I was not an old fat guy marrying a young Filipina at the time; I weighed 145 lbs and we are both close in age. Now I am an old fat guy married to a not as young Filipina. So as you may have guessed, many don’t go searching for Asian women or particularly desire to live here when they start out, it’s just the way it turns out. And yes, I was young and divorced at the time and didn’t necessarily want to get married again, however, her visitor visa was expiring so we got married and she got a green card. She became a US citizen. Best decision I ever made.

The beach is supposed to passable for everyone.
If you have a beachfront lot you can apply to the DENR for a foreshore lease. The lease prevents outside people from hanging out and having a picnic on that bit of sand.

 

I had a “mini” stroke before my big one and ignored it. I also ignored taking a cold drink from the fridge and telling my wife the fridge was broke when the drink felt warm. Can’t ignore the warning signs my friend.
