I found this light at Unitop, it is a 15 Watt LED plastic Bulb made by VGL and has a built-in Battery which when screwed into the socket and turned on, allows it to switch automatically to an Emergency light during a Black-out, it also comes with a screw on cap with a hook that allows you to remove it from the socket and move to another room should you need portable light, or even use like a Torch/Flashlight, obviously it charges when connected to electricity, it throws a very bright light and I plan on buying more to fit outside so during Black-outs we still have the security of external lighting that switches on in a nanosecond!

Cost was 280php which I thought was reasonable.

My thoughts are that others here may find them suitable for external/internal security/emergency/ convenient lighting.

 

So it was always going to come one year and although time files it has hit me with a wallop.
our Princess will be 18 next week but so will here School mates within a short time to follow or some already. One of the reasons I embarked on buying the car was that now she is of an age 3 on a Bike is not good when the little one is taller than Mum, So dad's Taxi has been reborn after all these years. Tonight is the Start of about 16 of them in the next 2 months. I guess we all realise when we say Kids do grow up it comes as a shock when the last one will be a Little Proper Young Lady. Having given us some ups and downs over the last few years I was so proud of her Yesterday out doing her bits and pieces buying for her outing Tonight. I am not a lover of Night driving at the best of Times but here in Dumaguete, I just hope the other Road users will give me a break for once
Just wondered if any of you others have a Dad's taxi now or soon

My daughter arrived midnight at manila terminal 3, for safety reason she spend several hours inside the Airport,at The Wings Lounge Terminal 3, (2nd floor near the fast food area) while waiting for her early flight to Dumaguete.

It has bunk and capsule rooms, showers, barber shop and spa services, the bunk is 700pesos for 5 hours and 880 for 8 hours with meals. She said its very nice clean and quiet.

 

Given the latest foreigner death, I am warned of the seriousness of depression. If you find yourself in this condition, reach out to family or friends and, if necessary, seek medical help, and try and find an outlet or activity to pull you out of it. Keeping it all to yourself might be dangerous.
For me, being handicapped, can at times put me in a deep funk. I try and refuse my mind to go into that deep hole by talking with my wife about it, focusing on my boy, and walking and going to the gym as outlets. As some us know, alcohol is a depressant so I limit my intake. Life can good no matter what.

 

18 months after surviving a life-threatening stroke, I am not going to suggest to anyone what they could or should do to prevent having a stroke; there are many sites that can offer better advice than I can. All I will offer is, once again, you don't want to have one.
I am slowly making progress but still handicapped with my balance, control, use of my right hand, and cannot get up or down without help. On the plus side, I can now walk without a cane if I have someone walking with me in case I start wobbling or my bad (right) leg starts collapsing.
Working hard walking and at the gym helps fight off depression and keeping the never give up spirit and attitude.
Watching my son grow and having a beer with my friends is enjoyable therapy. Finally, my wife taking such excellent care of me is a real blessing. Life is good.

 

Yesterday evening (While waiting for this storm to happen) I walked my usual 30 meters to my Sorry Sorry store for my couple of bottles of SMB as I do most evenings. To my Surprise I saw something I had not seen in all my time here. Little Girls, maybe 8 to 10 year old, playing with Dolls. Now as a father of 4 girls this site was not new to me in my past situation but here, I have never seen it before. Also new to me was something that well, really astounded me a little. The same age boys, Spider Fighting. YEP! Spider Fighting. They had spiders on twigs, got the spider to spin its cord, then wrap it lightly to the twig, another did the same at the other end and when to 2 spiders met WOW! ferocious battle for 1 or 2 seconds. Never seen this before.
Just a trivial Saturday morning thread but has any one else come across these two things here? maybe it is just me but i find this little interest in the local kids is what keeps them happy and not in my face as some type of benefactor. I can also say that these kids do not come knocking at my door for anything other than buying Ice Which I will gladly sell, if we have enough to spare. (and I do mean sell)

I find taking some interest in the local kids can make a difference in how the parents treat me. Maybe members will remember when I bought marbles for them sometime ago, they never Forget. Respect has to be earned not demanded I feel. All to many times I think we all, do demand.

Sorry for my Trivia today but...............:D life can be good if we go about it the right way.

I do not see all of the effort you put into this (private messages, etc.) so my recommendations are not that accurate. They are based on the amount of effort I would be willing put into working with people which is much less than the amount of effort you put into this.
