What's the purpose of "naming names"? If you don't like what a person has to say then skip them. Nobody agrees with everyone all of the time.

Cerne and DaveL, I fully understand and agree with the contents of the article refered to. I general I dare say that the so-called civilised world is governed and/or run by a great number of brain-dead morons that can only recognise Dollar or Euro signs. The only credo they (and their sheep-like followers) believe in is money, the more the better and if you have to ruin your planet in the process to obtain your goals for another 10 million, that's irrelevant. Stupidity rules...

And non-pedigrees are often so much tougher and longer-lived due to hybrid vigour. Some pedigrees are so in-bred they have a bad start from the moment of conception.

If it had been a pinoy he would have been released within 24 hours.
My ex and her sister were staying in a room for rent after our breakup (here in Dumaguete a number of years ago). A BF of a friend that occasionally hung out at their place during lunch break from school came over pounding on the door demanding his GF come out who wasn't even there and of course didn't live there. My ex's 16 year old sister was the only one there and the guy was drunk off his @ss and making her scared. She finally opened the door to show him she wasn't there when he said he'd leave if she wasn't no problem. My ex's sister opened the door and the guy punched her hard in the eye giving her a black eye. We went to the police and pressed charges me as only a concerned friend who's assisting with their education and they went and arrested the guy. 12 hours later they released him and texted us they were releasing him as it wasn't a serious charge. Talked to the captain and he said we needed to get a lawyer and press charges against him ourselves as it was out of their hands.
And no, this creep wasn't connected or anything of that sort. Just the police didn't want to hold him any longer then it took to sober up.-

- Thread: Do You Miss Working?
My work is a huge component in shaping who I am. Because I don't have an actual job, I can largely choose the direction of what to work on. That means the possibilities are endless for now and in the future. I doubt I will ever quit working as there will always be something that I can find to work on. Keeps life interesting.

Mate, just a bit about it from an old Digger.
The Ode shall be spoken by the designated person.
- ( then if you have the means)
- The Last Post shall be played.
- A period of not more than two minutes’ silence shall then be observed.
- Rouse or Reveille shall be played. (‘Rouse’ is the bugle call more commonly used in conjunction with the ‘Last Post’ and to the layman is often incorrectly called ‘Reveille’. Although associated with the ‘Last Post’, ‘Reveille’ is rarely used because of its length.)
- The ceremony is ended. The words ‘thank you’ shall NOT be spoken to end the ceremony.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."
All to repeat: We will remember them.
Lest we forget

- Thread: Hearing Aid
Some feedback on my hearing aids, in case anyone is interested or curious. I went to Santillan Hearing Center, around the corner from St. Paul's.
Hearing test cost p150. The results show what level your hearing is and indicates the settings for the hearing aid. My level was moderate, about the middle of the chart.
I required an aid for each ear. I believe they are made in the UK. They use bluetooth so settings can be adjusted by your cell phone.
The cost is p21,400 each. I needed one for each ear - p42,800.
They work extremely well, everything is amplified. Example: my normal tv volume was 50, now 10.
Some noises can be annoying. My wife talks loud so I have to ask her to not talk so loud.
Recommendation. I am glad I purchased them.-
