No matter there's a law, which forbid, when enforcement is lacking, any law is just a paper tiger.

I believe they do have laws covering bladed weapons. The problem is not with the law, it is with crime prevention. Unfortunately most of the police only respond to crimes, they don't go out, make a presence and try to discourage criminal activity.

The solution is simple: Tell the community if they have dogs they must put them on a leash on their property or in their house. Then police go out and shoot all stray dogs they see and offer P100-P500 reward for every dead dog a member of the community brings in.

Here is the video of me riding up there. Maybe it was coincidence but the second I pulled out my cell phone to take pictures some lady came up there trying to sell me some land. She said there was a lot up the road a bit for 350/sqm.

FYI: This is my moto vlog. I'll be throwing videos up about once a week for anyone interested. Feel free to subscibe/share/like. (Shameless plug, I know ).

Agree it's a f*cking tourist trap, same time I like the waterfalls and swim in the pool. Visit there with friends and decide would not let it spoil our day that we need pay for table and chair to sit down and if I remember right it was everything you need to pay for, even go cr. When we arrive some guys try to tell us you need a guide or you can find up there lol. I have been there enjoying the day with friends, don't go back again, hate that attitude, but been here long enough to ignore and don't let them spoil my day.

Unfortunately I go to Bacolod about once a month, since that is where the wife's family is and we have a house there. Traffic is horrendous, expansion is on-going quickly with no corresponding infrastructure to support a growing population.

We basically don't drive in the city, take taxi and hope to arrive at the destination in one piece.

If you don't play golf, it is pretty boring.

There are a few things that I guess one could say are nice. Costs of items are more expensive than here. Gas alone is usually 4 to 6 peso per liter higher.

For me the best part of visiting Bacolod is leaving and getting back to Dumaguete.

Somehow, I like your comment. Maybe you should think about where you live - in a country with clearly defined laws and rules. and one of these laws says; no permanent buildings / constructions in the easement zone at the beach - this law has a reason. People who are building there, denying the public access to the beach are simply ignorant and selfish, in mho. they are breaking the law, and this is a slap in the face for all the people who follow the rules - so, would you accept this in your home country? You accept that illegal pig farms with all the dirt running down to the sand bring peoples health in danger? Hm. My comment has nothing to do with crab mentality; I just feel absolutely no pity with people ignoring / breaking the law, specially not with the rich ones, and no matter what nationality they are. my only concern is about the poor squatter people, I hope they get a fair compensation from the government - if ever anything happens.

Update, Just returned from Bacolod today. Felt a little adventurous so took the Don Salvador Benedicto, San Carlos route. Once you enter Negros Oriental the norm is massive road construction, drainage work until you reach Bindoy. It is terrible, frequent stops because only one way, and when you get to go a complete mud bath for your auto or whatever conveyance you use. When you are not in a construction area you are going over areas that are being readied for construction once they finish the one they are working on. Take the Mabinay route if at all possible. Me? If for some reason the Bais to Mabinay or Mabinay to Kabankalan was closed, I would drive south through Bayawan and then up versus going up to San Carlos, even thought it adds an extra 1 to 2 hours of travel time. I might give it another try in a year, but not before.
