I think he was referring to the metered taxis and not the ridiculous ones (fixed price) that will charge you (read: rape your wallet) 25USD to go from terminal 3 to terminal one. The yellow metered taxis can have a ridiculous line if you get off the plane at the wrong time. I find it best to walk away from the airport to main road and find a taxi there. NAIA really needs to do something about those fixed rate taxis. They are freaking con artists and they always try to take you to a hotel where they make a commission.....which always is a complete sh*t hole.

FYI there are shuttle buses within the airport that can take you to your next terminal that are completely free. Just ask a guard where to find it (it is very well hidden and the signs aren't placed very well).

Yea there are free shuttles buses as well as 20 peso buses to get your from terminal to terminal depending upon which terminal. I've only taken the free bus when flying Philippine Air so not sure if it is the same for others. In my experience, the taxis at the line are metered and you pay that amount; if you arrive at an odd hour you will see the "private" guys going with $20+ for a ride that would cost no more than $5 in a metered taxi.

I've made a few travel mistakes over the years.

well i tried hard to keep my mouth shut and failed :smile::smile:
the mining industry in australia fly their workers to the mine site, where they have very good accomadation set up...
normally it 2 weeks on and one week off
In the citys and towns, they are known as fly in fly out workers, so F.I.F.O
however once at the site the F.I.F.O. takes on a new meaning
    fit in or f--k off
could fit the bill in a lot of cases methinks

Seems that guy has not traveled and visited many places in the world..... EVERY country has problems and annoyances but as others have said it depends on your attitude. I don't deny there are some serious annoyances here but after spending over 4 years in China I am happy to be here and am doing my best to deal with them and live with the people here. I too am very fortunate in having a fantastic Filipina wife that is the joy of my life. Some of these things frustrate her as much as me but we are happy and learn to laugh and get over it. Live and Learn!

Judging by the number of stressed out Filipino's ringing me this week for help or advice here in our local community, uk.
I almost rang my wife to say, stay in Philippines, I'll be on the next available plane!
Its all about adjusting to your surrounding's and making the effort to be part of it. and that cut's both ways too.

Obviously the state hand out they may get out is the same as a UK Citizen would get and they think it should be More or maybe, the Government Housing they have has a 1% Rent Increase

Having said that with Tongue in cheek maybe JB will enlighten us.

You can also take the Resort World Hotel shuttle bus that has a scheduled trip every 30minutes-its free, all you need is to register at the hotel first floor information centre and you will get a member card in 5minutes. Once your in the Resorts world drop off area, you can take taxi and the security officer will even record the plate number. i guess its the reasonable/cheapest and safest way to get a cab especially for the women.

    From the article:

    " . . . smelly sea water" [Who doesn't love the seaside-location?]

" . . . plenty of white men and even blacks in that town." [What? you mean there's blacks too? Who let THOSE people into the country?]

"A lot of old white men in this town walking around with 19 year old looking girls . . . " [And the problem is . . . ?]
