Hi Everyone, I seem to have a slight ear infection, d*mn painful and difficult to sleep on. Are there any local General Practice Doctors - preferable with our expats "personality" and language. Wife says book into hospital - but I have heard too many horror stories - of time and money lost. Pharmacy will not give or doesn't have "ear drop" medication. Help appreciated.
I don't know of a local GP but if you don't have an open wound you can try hydrogen peroxide in the ear. Tilt head to one side and apply a few drops to the ear. It will make a funny bubbling sound in your ear for a few minutes but should be painless. Wait until bubbling sound stops and gently clean ear with paper towel or tissue cotton swab. Repeat as necessary. Hydrogen peroxide is available at any pharmacy and many grocery stores. Note: NOT FOR INTERNAL USE (don't swallow etc) As a general rule of thumb don't put anything smaller than your elbow into the ear canal itself.
The wife says there is an Ear, Nose, doctor near the police station in town. Looking at the front of the police station it would be to the right. Might be an ENT, Worth checking out I would think. Don't know anything other than that.
Go see Doctor Flores at Siliman..He is a ENT specialist and looks after most or the foreigner divers with reflated problems... Miguel
I visited doctor Flores this morning for eye treatment. Got something in when grinding metal what he took out. Very professional also the desk lady. Good equipped, clean roomy waiting space. Surprisingly when I arrived there at 8.15 am I expecting have to come back later, but no, he was there. I walked out just before 9 (am) paid P550. You can call for an appointment. He keeps office in Siliman #421-0198 09278949602 (where I went and Holy Child eye clinic #420-2210 09325056736. Good luck
Diver's trick: Mix 50/50 Isopropyl alcohol and ordinary vinegar. Lie down, fill ear with this mix, wait 5 min, let run out. Important to keep it at least 5 min. Works good
Can you give a little more detailed directions? I have only been by on a trike twice. Need him for the 'N', I have sinus drainage causing a non-stop cough which is driving me CrAzY. Also how much cash should I have on me? Thanks (cough, cough, cough - damit)
