Information some new to the Philippines expats/tourists may find informative; 7 Ideal Philippine Cities for Expats
No joke. One person really needed an article. Another person really needed some money. Match made. @Brian Oinks Sorry, the articles from this site are worthless fluff.
I KNOW WHERE I would rather be (and I am!) But in saying that, I personally have not experienced all that is on offer here, as they say; "opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one". But who am I to say, but I threw this out there and I am looking forward to the opinions of others who have actually been to some of these places and the reasons WHY they think it is better or worse than their preference...
That list might deserve to be in the "Funny Stuff" section of the forum. My secret spots are still safe.
What a crock of sh*t, have the writer spend 3 months in each of his "best" cities on a fixed budget and see what he writes next.. 100% bullshit list..
One man's heaven is another man's hell. Take, for example, my friends that hunt, they want to live in the middle of nowhere and shoot things.
That is one of the things I hope to see others discuss, hearing from people who have been there and done that bears a lot more credit than a 'list' so fingers crossed it will open some debate on what areas some prefer to others and why... I have 'my spot' and am happy with that, (for now) but it would be nice if I decide to move somewhere else and had a better idea from people living here, what an area is like and why they think it is better, rather than people promoting an area merely for profit.
There are many hidden gems in the Philippines for living there. They have just to be found. There are not something like best 7 cities. Tastes are different. Someone prefers the small municipality on a small island while another one prefers to live in a big city. EDIT: Even on myself I have some diametrically opposing looking tastes. One small list of some of possible future living places: Valencia, Bayawan, Tanjay, Davao, Lapu-Lapu, Siquijor, Larena, Ormoc and some more.
