Ran across a website that lets you link your bank account (I think US only) and create temporary/pre-loaded debit card information for online purchases. Might be useful for those that don't have a debit/credit card or don't trust using their real card information online. https://privacy.com *Not a referral link. No personal or financial connection to the website.
I sometimes use PayMaya. Just load the card and use online or anywhere. Lots of promos for buying load. https://paymaya.com/
I have already a prepaid credit card for several years. Most credit cards offer them already for years - even paypal has (I think master and visa)
This is not a real credit card. You generate the card numbers, put spending limita on them, say how many times and where it can be used, etc and then throw the number away and create a new one to use for another business or use.
I've had bad experiences with PayPal. I avoid using their service as much as possible. I just noticed one of my banks, Capital One, also has a virtual card service available. Though that doesn't do much for someone without an existing debit card.
Hello Wrye, can you tell what kind of bad experiences you had with PayPal virtual credit cards? Might be useful for those of us still using this service.
My bad experience(s) had nothing to do with their virtual card service. As a buyer you don't really have too much to worry about. However, never keep a balance in your PayPal account. The company has about as much integrity and honesty as Wells Fargo.
Ah, OK I see. Thank you for telling. I'm currently not keeping a balance in my PayPal account, but good to know for the future that there might be "problems".
