Hello All, I was curious to know if anyone in the Dumaguete area are into tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, Cyberpunk, Fate Core, Shadow Run, etc... This list goes on and on. I'm looking for a group to connect with who would like to sit down in person and have a few adventures. Thanks in advance,
Sure, I have been looking for alternatives to bar table games. A local place which sells a lot of this stuff is 3J Hobby Shop. I have never been there, but I see they host games and tournaments. Send me a DM if you can. Otherwise, I'll send you one.
Great to know that such stuff is available on the Philippines. Where is that 3J Hobby Store and how are the pricing?
I've only been there once, a tiny place on Perdices St, second floor of the Twin Arcade Building, across the street from Don Roberto's Bar & Restaurant. There was a bunch of guys playing Magic the Gathering and no room to walk around the place because it was filled with tables and they MtG players. So I couldn't tell you what they have to offer as I scooted my way around the outside edge of people and the one person behind the counter didn't even look up at me while I stood at their glass display case. Never felt so out of place in my life... But hey, could have just been the day and my own insecurities.
Okay just tried to send you a new conversation (DM) it threw up an error saying I couldn't start one with you... :(
Note that 3J hobby shop is closed on Sundays, but sometimes they still open up on Sundays for tournaments. Maybe you went in on a Sunday when they would normally be closed. I also got the feeling that they put the importance of their tournaments above general sales. I dispatched the SO there to look into MTG as something to do together in an attempt to limit screen time before sleeping at night. She said the owner's pitch was for her to learn the game before buying (as opposed to simply selling her some sort of starter pack.) That's fine and I can understand that tournaments might actually drive the business. Just something to keep in mind when you go there.
Hey Dude, Yeah, it was a weekend and you could be on to it. Still having a sales clerk that doesn't pay attention to the surroundings is not good business practice. But oh well...
