If the last/family name on your pass port is not the same on both of their pass ports. They will probably label you a human trafficker and all kinds of "Tahee bagio" will begin. Please keep us informed as to what goes down at your departure.

The key term (for Google) you might be looking for is "DSWD" which is clearance for minors. This resource shows that either parent doesn't need this clearance and has information for other scenarios. I'm sure someone who has gone through this will weigh in, but what I don't see here is how you prove that you are the parent. I imagine a birth certificate would be one part? I'm also guessing that the DSWD is the only other process you would need to worry about.

My guess is the mothers written consent would be needed since you both have parental responsibility for your young kids. You should enquire at the airport to find out.

MINORS EXEMPTED FROM SECURING A TRAVEL CLEARANCE

The only exemptions to the DSWD travel clearance are minor children who are:

• travelling with either parent
• travelling with the legal guardian
• immigrants to another country and are holding a valid permanent residency card, dependents visa, or other pass issued by another country which proves residency with parents abroad. A minor who holds a permanent residency card of another country, or a valid pass such as dependents visa/pass/identification or permanent resident visa/pass/identification card is no longer required to secure travel clearance from DSWD.
• not a Filipino citizen and are holding a foreign passport

A minor who is a Filipino citizen and living abroad but does not hold either a permanent resident visa or equivalent pass issued by another country is required to secure a travel clearance.

 

I never had problems traveling back and forth between the US and the Philippines with my dual citizen daughter. I just carried her dual citizenship papers along with her US passport. Nobody ever gave me a bit of trouble.

When I had a return ticket, I didn’t need a parental consent from the parent who wasn’t traveling with us. When I had a one way ticket, I had to cough out the documents. That’s been my experience.

Even a legal guardian is OK.

 

You might be right, but I wouldn't think it would matter. She was both of ours, biological child, so I think her dad would have had no problems taking her, either. But, you just never know these days.....
